UM deserves zero credit for this. It all falls on Wittingham, a third string shot putting QB, a missed FG, and crazy weather.

Likely would have happened no matter who the head coach was.

FTR, I would take UM as a head coach over losing every game. He's not close to my first choice though.

He raised a boatload of money for the school and was a big part of Utah being in the Pac 12. My only regret is that he wasn't at Utah longer.

Sorry Chief it has already been determined 2004 means nothing because Utah didn't have the weekly grind of a bcs school.

I bet after two straight years of losing every game you would change your mind.

Yeah, I thought that was funny too. Took me a minute to figure out what he was even talking about.

Be honest that record gave you more wet dreams than anything else. If you had a bad season you could always go back to "at least we have nt been shut out since lavell invented the forward pass"

Btw... douger and jl are either liars or stupid by v saying they wouldnt want urban as a coach. I mean your bball coach reid was/is a gigantic dickhead and there are no complaints about him. Of course you almost did lose every game then have him as a coach.

I am willing to wager that 90% of BYU fans didn't even know about the record until it became news after the game.

And plenty of BYU fans hate Reid. And his sons.

                • I hated Roger Reid as our coach.

And I'm not kidding when I say I don't want Urban as my coach. I don't need guys who fake heart attacks and sell snake oil running my favorite team.

                    Thanks for doubling down.

Lost almost every game? You do realize that Reid had a winning record vs. Majerus, right?

I might be stupid, but I am not a liar. I do not want Urban to coach at Texas.

I remember being pretty disappointed when that streak was snapped. Now it's owned by Michigan though so it's fine.

I was on my culturally appointed two year abscence in 1996 when byu went 1-25. Wasn't reid fired the year before or was that his last year?

                        • Im a super fan and knew about the record. I was pissed that the streak was snapped. it meant something and was a cool accomplishment. It was never a satisfactory substitute for winning games, though, at least not for me. I also never had any nocturnal emissions because of the unbeaten streak.

I dont want to lose every game forever in lieu of Urb at the helm. I want to win as many games as possible with the best coach available. I would even be willing to have Lucifer coach the team if he could figure out how to beat Utah on a regular basis. He is just as inactive as Andy Reid or Mike Leach so not sure why he wouldnt at least be interviewed for the job.

I think he was fired halfway through the 1-25 year.

Now that is the BIGGEST LIE from this board ever.

He was fired right at the beginning of that year. Tony Ingle was the interim head coach during the 1-25 season. We had no depth and then we lost our best player when he was convicted of some kind of fraud/embezzlement.
