    Gracias, Mr. Miyagi!
Did you sear it with high heat or just turn up the heat on the Traeger?

How can those teams be evenly matched when only one of them won a national championship this weekend????

Btw, Utah may be the only team to win a national championship AND a superbowl...and within a decade of each other, to boot. That is respectable.

Sear on gas grill. about a minute or so on each side, cranked up to the highest setting. I dont like wasting fuel to crank up the smoker super high. i dont know if it adds anything to the flavor.

Doesnt get hot enough anyway for a good sear. Waste of pellets.

I sear with the Smokey Joe. Works like a champ.

                how hot does that get?

im not knocking using the smoker to sear, it just isnt an effective approach with a traeger. And it seems to be more efficient to do it quickly on the gas grill. the second the tip hits 135 (or 137), I remove it and place it on the flaming hot grill, one minute on each side. Seems like with the smoker sear, you continue to cook it for what...maybe 10 or so more minutes while you are waiting for the smoker to get to sear temp, then cook it some more while you sear.

This loss was a big hit to Oregons national title hopes.

It was very clever smack by USUC. Seriously. So is yours above.

This is a cool accomplishment, as BYU fans have already known for decades. BYU beat the #1 team in the country, but if you take the excitement you felt when BYU beat the sitting national champions, divide that excitement by 5, then focus on that one-fifth of happiness and excitement, you can imagine how proud the Utes must feel today. In fact, to fully appreciate the magnitude of this moment, we need look no further than Dres, who admitted that last night's win was, in essence, winning the national championship for a school like Utah. Who are all of you to deny them this moment?

If the Utes ever beat (or even play) the #1 team in the country, or beat a Top 3 team on the road, I will be as happy for them then as I am today. Shame on the rest of you.
I am sure Utah fans would appreciate some more graciousness from the cougars. The problem is that many cougs weren't even alive to experience the happiness you described, and it is that age group that is not so gracious. It would be helpful if you old cougs would help the younger ones develop empathy.

The Smokey Joe is a small Weber charcoal grill. Load that baby with lump coal and it is good to go.
