What do you figure the difference in pay would be?

Although I don't think the team is on the right track right now (or for the last few years), I think it is crazy talk to seriously think BYU ought to get rid of Bronco. You don't replace a good employee unless you've got a superstar waiting in the wings.

I think this is exactly right. I would be astonished if the BoT weren't willing to give Bronco a very long leash indeed, given the way he contextualizes the role of football with respect to BYU's overall mission. As in: multiple consecutive losing seasons would still be kosher as long as the program is clean and he is still seen as articulating the kinds of values the BoT likes.

Quite the conundrum for this BYU fan.

I loathe Bronco the Q12 sycophant but I like the defensive coach that he has become. Certainly the lack of LDS replacements gives me pause but we're headed into a 4-win season with a coach who by all accounts has chosen not to be the coach after next season anyway. So why should I care if he chooses to leave this year instead of next?

I for one think Holmoe has known this for some time, and has been very busy putting together list of available candidates to replace him. It may have come a season sooner than he thought but I think Holmoe is prepared for this.

I kinda wonder which would last longer: Bronco's tenure at CU, or his remaining time at BYU. Set the over under at 5, and I think I take the under for either job.

I'm sure this is part of the calculus for him, too.

Would not be surprised if Bronco's agent is the one behnd this rumor. They may be trying to gauge how BYU feels about Bronco. Most coaches who are wanted by the school recieve an extension or a statement at least when a rumor is floated. Everyone is replaceable is my view.

I think you're right. Bronco needs to decide which is a better job to be fired from or move into an AD role somewhere.

He is absolutely underappreciated at BYU. He's no LaVell, but he's no Crowton, either, and on the LaVell-Crowton spectrum, he's much closer to the former. I wouldn't blame him if he is trying to drum up a little love.

At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

You don't often hear about coaches leaving a good job for a worse one. But it's possible, I suppose.

However, since the question asked whether I would leave BYU for Colorado, Absolutely Not seems much too mild of a response.

It's humorous that people think he would consider it. But, the love of money...etc

Sweet. Doman can reapply for Bronco's job now, just like he got Anae's.

Is Bronco serious with this or is this just Bronco histrionics? I'll be very confused if he goes to CU. CU?

It's weird. On one hand, I just don't see Bronco interviewing elsewhere if he weren't interested. On the other: CU? Really?
