I expect the aggies to win by one score. But it'll be a close game no matter who wins.

I thought the same last week and never even thought about putting the sweatshirt on that I brought with me.

D'oh! I signed up to switch to U-Verse on Friday afternoon. If it's anything like the DirecTV sign up, I could be out of a place to watch the game.

Where is E. Flystripper Hutton? I am not moving on this game until he speaks.

It is going to be a close game. I think BYU wins, but I am far from confident. If we get some Nelson or freshman turnovers this one could easily be a loss.

USU is good enough defensively that our quarterback has to be pretty good to win. We won't run all over them. We will have to be successful in the passing game to win. I think Hill can do enough to win but it is far from certain

Odds of Riley playing are rising I think:

Taysom Hill said he and Riley Nelson split reps in practice today.

Bronco on Riley Nelson: "He got probably double [the reps] than what I expected him to get. Took team reps, skelly reps, etc

More Bronco on Riley Nelson: "So it is moving in the right direction. Still too early to call, as to whether he will be ready or not."

                  Marcus Matthews news:

Was told today that Marcus Mathews has been moved back to tight end. Probably filling spot vacated by Austin Holt, who is redshirting.

Riley is going to fumble/throw the game away. If Riley starts TO's will lead to a USU victory. We've seen the blueprint for this game and BYU fans won't like the result.

Jay Drew has an article up saying there is a split between Bronco and Doman in regards to the QB situation. Bronco is loyal and is fiercely loyal to Riley. Doman understands his limitations and sees him as a liability. He likes what Taysom can do. If true I don't get what point Bronco is trying to make. Seems like a good way to split a team and build a hell of a lot of distrust.

I really don't know what good splitting reps at this point does. If Riley wasn't ready to go on Monday, he shouldn't be getting reps today. Hill needs those reps especially in the passing game. There is a confident and hungry team coming in to Provo on Friday and there is this nonsense going on? I think both Whit and Anderson know how to prepare for BYU. I'm starting to fear that the result will be the same.

Like I said before, I don't see what Bronco has to gain with this man crush on Riley. I get that he likes the kid, but good hell, enough is enough! If the kid can't go he can't go, there's no reason to string everyone along because of some emotional attachment.

1280 had Dr. Reed Fogg on yesterday who's one of the best back guys around. He talked about transverse process injuries and how long they take to heal. He said oftentimes that, depending on pain, a player can be ready to go in two to three weeks although the possibility exists that the player will not be as limber as he was prior to the injury.

There could be several reasons why Bronco wants Riley back. Riley of course knows the system better than Taysom so the offense can become more complex if necessary. What if Taysom starts but gets hurt running the ball? It would be nice to have Riley as a backup in that situation. Also the possibility exists that Bronco has watched a healthy Riley and Taysom in practice and has a much better idea of who's better than us speculating fans. (That point was made yesterday again on 1280 by a former D1 quarterback.) It could be that we don't know as much about Taysom as we would like to think because he beat a horrible Hawaii team.

All Nelson has done has beat pretty horrible teams. But we do know much about Nelson as he has performed really badly against good teams. He is also an injured Senior and isn't going to miraculously turn into a good QB.
