It was a terrible pass into double coverage that fluttered like a wounded duck and hung up in the air. The DB made that outstretched one handed grab on that one.
You're right - I am remembering it wrong.

It was on a trajectory for the TE to catch it when a fingernail tip resulted in it sailing over the TE and to the DB in the back of the endzone, who made an acrobatic grab along the rear boundary of the endzone.

Yes - he was on his heels when he threw it. And maybe he should've just thrown it away. But I have a clear recollection of the replay and it was honestly about an inch to an inch and a half away from being a TD - but because it was short that distance it was tipped instead.

I'm not saying it was a great throw or a great play. This discussion was about Riley's luck. And I'm saying it was much closer to being a great play and a great throw than people remember. Seriously, just another inch or two...and this would go down as another "lucky" play resulting in a TD.

              It is a good one.

It was hardly a "jumpball". Six--no, threee--inches higher and that play is on SC. Now, you could argue that he shouldn't throw into the endzone scrambling to his left into coverage, given that we have three points in the bag, but the throw was not awful. He tried to make a play (that was there) and almost did, a play that would have won a game on the road that we had no business winning.

So you guys can remember correctly.

The first pick which was an athletic highlight play by TCU at midfield occurs at 1:15. The second pick in the end zone is at 2:00. It was not that close to being a great play IMO. It certainly wasn't an inch or two away. It would have been a difficult catch to hold onto even if it was thrown more accurately as Edwards (?) was drilled in the back.

Stephenson was bad and Sorenson missed the 50 yarder, but Falslev also had a punt return for a TD. So special teams produced a TD. The defense was poor that game. Tree got toasted on that one wheel route that resulted in a wide open TD and Uale had a terrible game (he had several but this one stood out). Our defense this year is better simply because that kid graduated. Uale is another example of Bronco not playing the best player.

Didn't we have a blocked punt and a couple of long snaps that went over the punter's head? Something like that.

Yes. Three bad snaps which led to this great Bronco quote:

"I can't even describe it," Mendenhall said. "It caught me completely by surprise, not only once or twice, but three times. After the first one, you think it's an accident. Uh, one is one too many coach.

And our defense held TCU to their lowest yardage output of the season.

The play in question took place in the 2nd quarter. The game was never even close in the 2nd half, Falslev's punt return notwithstanding.
