Not as much as it used to be with the new CBA. Perhaps Ziggy will get a nice second contract regardless, but that second contract is turning out to be the most important one. He stands to do better if he's with a team where he'll have coaching and time to produce.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

      Now you're just being modest.

        • It would be ideal if he would land on a team like the Steelers, but I doubt the Lions let him slip past #5.

If we disagree on something, it's because you're wrong.

              • Oneill Chambers was not allowed to workout because he played at Nebraska-Kearney. The rule states you can participate in pro-day in either your home state or the school you last played for.

                  • Just exactly how many NFL pro days are there? It doesn't seem to be particularly efficient.

About 115 or so. Even Harvard has one.

                      • Ziggy now projected to the Jags with the 2nd pick in Kiper's latest mock. I am not sure there has ever been such a meteoric rise for a single player. The dude wasn't even a starter at the beginning of the year.

                        • It is amazing that he is now more coveted than Star. I bet no one could have guessed that a year ago.

I'm still hoping this doesn't happen. Not sure anyone can live up to this hype.

I know! The thing I thought about Ziggy before his coming out party was that he was just athletic but sort of clueless- him getting blocked on kick return coverage against whomever last year just stuck out in my mind very prominently. Watching highlights though... not sure anyone in the country could really stop him one on one.

                              • I'm selfish so I don't want him to go to a crappy team like the Jaguars.
