Is it true the Bronco's big selling point in re-committing the kid was reminding him that he'd likely be playing 3 schools from his home state on an annual basis, most likely in November?
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

No. Coach Bronco promised him his own momument in Statuary Hall.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
PROVO — It’s been a big weekend for the Pau’u family. After dropping off Butch Pau’u at school, his younger brother Neil took part in BYU’s camp. Neil is a 6-foot-4, 190 quarterback who will begin his junior at Servite High School this coming season.
Neil went to the camp without any expectations, but was met with a scholarship offer after his performance and immediately accepted it.
No idea. Played WR as soph and is taking over at QB this year as a junior. Not sure if they just offered him as an athlete or as a QB.
I would be real surprised if he is being recruited for anything but athlete. I would think TE or DE is where he will finally play.

I think BYU is increasingly trying to recruit athletes rather than position specific players.
Which is a good plan but sometimes I think the coaching staff needs to be a little less gentle with their encouraging some of these players to play positions that better fulfill the needs of the team rather than what the player wants.
Otherwise we could end up with 5 incredible athletes all at TE.

I wish they'd do more to recruit Polynesians lately.
I keep reading that the Mark Atuaia hire is helping this. When did BYU stop recruiting Poly's and why do they care if Atuaia is in the ADs office? If the Atuaia hire gets Vai to stop pulling the string about Mendenhall and get back to advising people he has never met to serve missions while being a noble spiritual leader in the Tongan community, and occassionally pounding the shit of dickheads for charity, the world will be a better place. If it helps BYU re-establish the never lost but twice now re-established Poly Pipeline, even better. But getting Vai back to beating up Hispanics really makes my day!
