So just go by "the university of Utah football team"?Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

If they have to lose "Utes", I agree with this. We'll be "Utah" or "the University of Utah". Any nickname they'd come up with would be bland and contrived.Originally posted by Portland Ute View PostDitch a nickname altogether and let one arise over time."I don't know the origin of said bitch booming."-Art Vandelay

It's still not as bad as BYU trying to become a member of the WAC and failing.Originally posted by Tone Loc View PostIt was only a matter of time since you are the Pac 12's little bitch."I don't know the origin of said bitch booming."-Art Vandelay

It is ironic that Utah has a bird for a mascot but a plucked feather as part of their logo. Swoop, for one, should be happy with this decision."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Who knows if Shoganai is correct, but if he is, Utah even steals its mascot changes. In 1999 the Seattle University Chieftains became the Redhawks. Would Utah have gone with that if it wasn't already taken? So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Of course, in his case the Y is Yale, which has the same colors as BYU and the same "Y" symbol, but happens to have been founded 174 years before the Provo campus. BYU's founding fathers evidently liked the blue and white colors and using a "Y" as their school's symbol.“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

I have no problem with it. The more the merrier.Originally posted by shoganai View PostI married a Trojan. Being a good sport and cheering for USC is a pretty easy concession to make considering the volume of time and money she gives up to BYU sports.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

FYI, this guy is the main player forcing the UofU into making the change. He's a fairly polarizing figure in the Utah native american community as a whole, but to my understanding is the most powerful voice within the Ute tribes.Originally posted by MarkGrace View Posthttp://www.cougarboard.com/board/mes...tml?id=7994898
