Probably no longer reasonable to assume that Bronco told this kid about his mission stats.

This kid is an angry exmo just waiting to happen, with all those negative feelings he harbors and all...Originally posted by TTCoug View PostI'm not worried either way, but this kid obviously harbors some very negative feelings about what happened and took the opportunity to publicly paint BYU in a bad light.
He could have said BYU wasn't interested, instead he accuses them of trying to use religion to manipulate him.Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

Only if you assume Bronco wasn't recruiting him when he was the DC in 2003.Originally posted by falafel View PostProbably no longer reasonable to assume that Bronco told this kid about his mission stats."The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."

We've been hard on AC. He's softening up quite a bit. He's more raw than RF and likely significantly undersexed (comparatively speaking) as well. Makes for a nasty combo.Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostPlenty of anti BYU people go to church every week. How come you can't be a nice atheist like RF?Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.

If Moranville was a city, you would be the guy begging for change on the corner.Originally posted by Hsaru View PostGotta love the double standard, Utes complain that BYU manipulates kids with religion to get them to come to BYU. But if you even entertain the idea that a certain kid didn't want to come to BYU for honor code reasons(not necessairly honor code issues, just don't want to live their college life under the HC) then Ute fans are enraged!
.My statement was simply that the recruiter was using religion to manipulate him.
I have zero outrage about BYU's willingness to inject religion into their recruiting process. In fact, I encourage it. Doing so will give a glass ceiling to what BYU can achieve in recruiting. It does not work with very many high end kids who have options.
Please keep it up, BYU."The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."

Many schools divide recruiting by location, not position. It allows for a coach to develop relationship with the HS coaches in an area over time. I don't know how Crowton distributed his assistants during his tenure. But assuming that he wasn't the same position, therefore not his recruiter would be foolhardy.Originally posted by falafel View PostAsper is an OL."The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."

Wasn't there some rumor out there that Bronco as DC under Crowton had opted out of recruiting?Originally posted by YOhio View PostI think it's safe to assume that Bronco wasn't recruiting offensive linemen."I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"
