No. The ACC isn't that good and shouldn't be considered.

Could have an argument but not a very good one. I still think Oklahoma is in the best position (outside of Bama of course) of the 1 loss teams. Not fair I know but the coaches love them some Oklahoma.

Clearly Oklahoma is in the best position, if they win out they go. I'm just speculating on the 1-loss teams out there.

This could all be meaningless chatter as Southern Cal, Baylor, Iowa State and Georgia South change the top 5 around.

I agree. I would love for LSU to lose and we end up with 7 or 8 1 loss teams.

We historically struggle with Arkansas, so that's very possible. The razorbacks look very good right now. That game is in Death Valley, but it's an afternoon game.

Speaking of Death Valley, wow. I was going to do a write up on my trip there, but there's just too much to talk about. The game was a bit scary for a bit - LSU came out a bit flat - but other than that, wow. Nothing I had heard did it justice. From the tailgating, to the fans, to the stadium, to the alligator sausage I had - everything exceeded my expectations in a major way. I have a bunch of pictures I may toss up later.
Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

TCU or Southern Miss in position to get a BCS bid by being ranked ahead of Big East champ. Looks like another year with 2 non-AQ teams getting in is likely.

We totally owned Idaho Saturday, with our back-up QB. It makes sense to me. But because Utah beat BYU this year, I'm thinking Utah should have the 4 points and BYU should have 2.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

There's a chance Southern Miss can automatically make it into the BCS though, if they win out, they play Houston in the Conference USA Championship game, and probably in the top 12 or top 16 in the BCS rankings while beating Houston while doing so.
According to the BCS show on ESPN, both TCU and Southern Miss are still alive to go to the BCS ahead of the Big East rep. They were adding one of these schools in addition to Houston, who they specifically said controlled their BCS destiny.

BCS standings: Oregon at 4, OU at 5, Arky at 6, Clemson at 7.

I have a ton of respect for the Ducks, but with the way their schedule finishes OU and Arkansas have a better shot at the title.

Is the SEC divisional tie-breaker BCS standing? Because in the event of a Razorback upset two weeks from now, we have a 3-way tie in the West. And crazily enough, whoever finishes second in that tiebreaker would still be in position to play in the BCS title game (and there's no requirement for winning your conference, right?)

There are four Big 10 teams ranked ahead of TCU and Southern Miss in the BCS standings, and one right below them in Penn State. Two are currently in the top 16, which you need to attain for consideration.

Yeah, TCU is 19th, but it's a sizeable gap from there to 16th. I just don't see how TCU leaps four Big 10 teams AND the Big 10 only has one team ranked in the top 16. And not to mention the ACC has two teams in the top 8. TCU may be alive, but they need more than just to stay ahead of the Big East rep to make it to BCS game. Just finishing top 16 isn't enough if there's a non-AQ ahead of you.
