I thought he said they lose 25 in the first year and 15 in subsequent years. Is that not right?Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View Post$60 million fine - who cares?
4 year post season ban
10 scholarship loss for 4 years
Any athlete can transfer no penalty or can stay not play and keep scholarship
Vacate all wins from 1998-2011
Sorry, what a joke."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Watching live. Here's the scoop:
$60M dollar fine (one year of gross revenue - that's a big deal)
All wins vacated from 1998-2011
4 year bowl ban
Reduce of 10 schollies initially, 20 thereafter per year for 4 year
Transfer with no delay
5 year probation and oversight
Sanctions to be imposed on individuals
Other stuff too - it's effectively like having the SEC come into your company and have a guy sitting there at all times.Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

Weak sauce. The NCAA could have sent a clear message here but again doesn't. What a joke. Emmert has to be one of the most incompetent leaders ever.
There is nothing in those penalties that makes Penn State wish they had the Death Penalty."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

Yeah, they're harsh, but not shocking.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View Post$60 million fine - who cares?

The one that is a big deal, actually, is all the stuff not reflected in the numbers. An NCAA compliance guy is going to have a desk next to the coach, in effect. Not saying it's enough, but it's a big deal.Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

I think the $60 million is a joke. They have a $1.6 billion endowment. They have increased their donations since the scandal. Money means nothing to Penn State. And to take money before the civil cases are settled looks selfish to me.Originally posted by nikuman View PostWatching live. Here's the scoop:

Exactly. Last night everyone was saying, Penn State will wish they got the death penalty. Really? Is there anyone that agrees here that the death penalty would have been preferable? I hate the NCAA.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostA big deal? Shit, if I was penn state I am like okay we'll take that. And now, Now they don't want unintended victims? I doubt $60 million is a joke. That's a big chunk of change and I doubt they can just borrow money from the endowment to pay it. Chances are it'll have to be raised through donations, or through a reduced athletic operating budget.Originally posted by CJF View PostI think the $60 million is a joke. I wish the NCAA hit them harder, but it seems like PSU will suffer at the hands of the punishments."Discipleship is not a spectator sport.
