Considering he'll only have to coach for three of those years, that's a great deal!
I told him he was a goddamn Nazi Stormtrooper.

Would be the highest paid coach in football. Just a little more than Carroll and Payton are getting per year.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

It's fun to watch the NFL "insiders" backpedal now after they've been claiming Harbaugh told Michigan no weeks ago, claiming that this new offer is causing him to reconsider when it's clear this is actually the first offer.

It may be true that Harbaugh stays in the NFL, but he's very interested in the Michigan job and a lot of people around him are pushing him hard to do it.

This offer is also a public confirmation that the Michigan insiders know a lot more about what's going on than the NFL guys do, and the Michigan guys the last few days have been saying Harbaugh is 90% coming.

I still worry a bit about an NFL team approaching with a similar or better offer that includes full control, which a couple teams are reportedly considering. They can't talk to him until after the season so even if 90% is true now it might change on Dec 28.

Was it smart for UM to publicize this? They just gave the NFL teams the ability to match and try to make it more appealing. Also, if they don't get him they already stated how much they are willing to spend. No way they would pay some other guy that amount but he may use this as leverage.

I hope he comes. But some team may give him the GM/Coach roll for the same amount of money. The opportunity of getting that ring may sway him more than his Alma mater..

What I've heard is that the leak likely came from his agent, which is a bad sign, but it was already leaked a couple weeks earlier on the M side, but the NFL folks just didn't have the proper connections to notice so they made a big thing of it only after the agent (perhaps) leaked.

The latest credible story is that JH is strongly considering it and plans to meet with Hackett in a few days, possibly on the 23rd. If rumors of M contacting a bunch of other candidates don't starting flying by Christmas, it's probably a good sign that Harbaugh is good to go on the 29th or so.

There's a rumor that lots of people are spreading around that Harbaugh has already signed, but that's from a high school student with a troll blog incessantly posting positive "rumors" to get clicks, and from Mercellus Wiley, an ESPN2 guy I've never heard of who is probably misunderstanding something.

If he doesn't go the next cut will really feel wanted when his salary is half or less what they offered Jimbo. Smart move to leak the numbers by Michigan or Coach Fake Tough Guy.

Talking heads here mentioned the possibility of Miss St. Coach Mullen if Harbaugh doesn't pan out who is a Northeast guy.

The Michigan-Ohio State rivalry, in particular, would be instantly revived and redefined. Think Harbaugh would be even slightly afraid of Meyer? Think he’d hesitate to stoke the flames of The Game with the kind of talk that would leave Buckeye Nation’s undies in a bunch? Think again. This would be Bo vs. Woody all over again, only with two arguably even more competitive guys.
I would love for the rivalry to kick it up a notch.. He'll be easy to hate and those games would be awesome..

0-9? I don't think Oregon has ever played Florida State before. I hope that they can pull out a win and then see who they would face, but I'm excited about the semi-final.

Let's get this thread back to Michigan, this is one of my favorite plays I've ever seen in a Michigan game.
