Nelson's limitations were well known before this game. It is clear you can win the games you should win with him as the starter but, against better competition—while he'll surprise a few teams on occasion—he is not the long term solution.

I simply meant that was the only reason to be so excited over a 2pt conversion. I don't fault Riley Nelson for this loss one bit. He is not good, but for all his faults, he made this game competitive.

BYU outscored TCU after that terrible first 5 minutes of the game. Not much consolation but at least this final score isn't an embarrassment.

I don't think that is fair tonight. This game comes down to bad special team play by BYU. Nelson has played the same way he has played every game (and in many ways similar to Heaps prior to USU), move the ball down the field and, about half the time, screw up when he gets close to the blue zone.

You don't? I do. Pick, stupid lateral....drive killers. It isn't all his fault, but he shoulders a majority of the blame, IMO. He gets the glory beating Utah state, tonight this is his loss. At least it seems this way to me.
