Riley must have had money on the game.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Nelson's limitations were well known before this game. It is clear you can win the games you should win with him as the starter but, against better competition—while he'll surprise a few teams on occasion—he is not the long term solution.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostRiley must have had money on the game.

I simply meant that was the only reason to be so excited over a 2pt conversion. I don't fault Riley Nelson for this loss one bit. He is not good, but for all his faults, he made this game competitive.Originally posted by tooblue View PostNelson's limitations were well known before this game. I see your point but technically has Riley ever beaten a better team? I don't think he will surprise a better team ever.Originally posted by tooblue View PostNelson's limitations were well known before this game. I don't think that is fair tonight. This game comes down to bad special team play by BYU. Nelson has played the same way he has played every game (and in many ways similar to Heaps prior to USU), move the ball down the field and, about half the time, screw up when he gets close to the blue zone.Originally posted by tooblue View PostNelson's limitations were well known before this game. You don't?Originally posted by Donuthole View PostI simply meant that was the only reason to be so excited over a 2pt conversion. I don't fault Riley Nelson for this loss one bit. He is not good, but for all his faults, he made this game competitive.
I do. Pick, stupid lateral....drive killers. It isn't all his fault, but he shoulders a majority of the blame, IMO. He gets the glory beating Utah state, tonight this is his loss. At least it seems this way to me.
