He only made it through his first year of law school at the U. Maybe we can arrange an honorary degree. I know one of the guys who fellowshipped Ted prior to his baptism. Oddly, the church doesn't claim Ted either. I say we let the State of Washington take all the credit for him.Last edited by LA Ute; 09-30-2011, 11:23 AM.“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

The last few days, I have had an overwhelming thought that we are going to curb stomp these puppies. Somewhere in the 38-17, 42-21 range. Just a hunch.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostLine has moved to -10."The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."

i think having it in town is a better idea since after the festivities are over, there is more stuff to do, restaurants, clubs, etc. apparently a lot of the local businesses are decorating their windows, etc. in ute stuff, so that adds to the town being kind of ute-centric. i think it would be a blast and plan on taking advantage of it when i come for colorado. ipu, i hope you will post a report.Originally posted by il Padrino Ute View PostI'm curious about it not being on campus as well. Perhaps it's a move to try to reach out to the community to get more involvement?
The trouble with TRAX as it involves the U is that there are still not enough trains that go to the campus to accommodate the crowd. It's getting better, but there are still about 4 or 5 trains that go downtown for every on train that goes to the U and most of those trains going downtown are empty as everyone gets off at the Galavan Center to make the switch. UTA needs to do a better job at directing the trains to where most of the riders are going.
And speaking of the Galavan Center, that would be a better place for these festivities than the Gateway. It's a more central location and folks who don't really want to be a part of it wouldn't have to deal with the crowd, as they would at the Gateway.
As for the BYU presser, I would be concerned about it ruining the fun if I thought it was going to happen.
as for the game, i share Jarid's gut feeling. it just seems like we are getting ready to keep rolling from the last game. Washington's defense is struggling, so i expect Chow to ram it down their throats on the run and mix in some play action initially and then start stretching the field a bit more. i have a feeling that we will see more deep balls by Wynn this game, after an extra week of rest. again, gut feeling, so i could be totally wrong.
utah's defense should set a goal to hold Washington to under 100 yards rushing. if we do that, we win. our safeties may give up a few plays, but i believe that we will stop any huge game changing TD passes if we are putting pressure on the QB and our man to man coverage is decent.
i am heading up to Oregon in 2 weeks to hopefully see the remains of the ASU team that just got destroyed by the utes.

One would think the Utes are playing on Sunday afternoon rather than Saturday during GC. The shame! And I don't get the home game during conference weekend comments. It would be just as sinful playing Washington in Husky stadium during GC. On that note, me thinks I remember Brother Vai playing on Sunday a time or two in the NFL.Originally posted by OrangeUte View Post
Also, Brother Vai is under further condemnation for allowing his nephew to play for Washington in that hedonistic conference that is the PAC-12. Should he not be playing for the Lord's university like his uncle before him?“Not the victory but the action. Not the goal but the game. In the deed the glory.”

What a perspective-shifting day. Utah really is in the PAC-12. I know they've played SC already, but this feels different to me. I can sit in an old-school PAC-10 city and listen to local sports radio today and hear nothing but Utah vs. UW talk - all day. Matchups, breakdowns, etc. It's great.

Just what the utes needed, a little motivation.

My son said it was "awesome." That's a pretty broad term, of course.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostDid anyone wind up going to the pep rally last night? How was it? Good attendance?“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”
