I wonder who has the edge because of Chow and Sark knowing one another so well? I know Sark has had a kind of devilish insight into USC.

If Wynn can have a game like he did against BYU - play well enough to get the ball to his receivers - the offense should be fine, especially with Jamora being out, as per KL's link. White should have another good game, as UW's rush defense isn't great.

I think Washington's offense will be more of a challenge for Utah's defense than any of the games thus far. The key to the game will be how the Ute linebackers play. If they hold their own, I really believe that Utah will win a close game.
I agree if Wynn can complete 50% of his passes and have 1 out of 4 dropped by defenders after he hits them in the chest Utah will be just fine. Also if John White can get bottled up with 57 yards on 19 carries through 3 quarters until the other teams defense says Eff this our offense sucks and they quit I think utah wins going away.

I wouldn't count on Washington giving up like another team not to be named. Washington was down 44-17 to Nebraska in the fourth quarter and didn't mail it in. The Huskies still lost 51-38 but the game was closer then the score.

I expect a high scoring game, close game.

Will SU cheer for Utah and against the Huskies in front of his kids? Doubtful. That would be confusing and would undo all of the careful nurturing he has done thus far.

EDIT: Never mind. Game is in Utah and no TV in the SU household. Crisis averted for one year.

Using SC as a common opponent:

            NoCho: zero wins
            Sark: zero losses

Neither stat matters this weekend, but you did ask.

We have discussed this. I will very much be for the Utes. I will not bark for sark this Saturday (as you know); I will be grumpy about the game do to anxiety. The boys have announced that they will cheer for UW. My daughter (5) says she will cheer for both teams; she wants them both to win (could happen I guess if there is a finish like the '72 basketball Olympic gold game).

my middle son doesn't care for the utes and it breaks my heart. i have empathy for your situation. my youngest likes the utes, but says he's a boise state fan first and foremost because they beat utah in the vegas bowl last year. all i have is my oldest, who loves the utes. he's clearly my favorite.

that being said, i hope to see john white get some help on the run game this week. i think that he is going to need a power-runner to compliment him and also to wear down the Washington DLine. it would be nice to see Langi have a break out game this week.

As for Wynn, he needs more zip on his balls to avoid turning it over. our receivers are solid and will be able to shake defenders loose, so if wynn gets the ball going faster and farther, we could open this game up with passing.

the biggest battle is going to be for control on the lines. if our OLine holds and gives Wynn time, and if our DLine gets pressure on the QB, we win. Our LBers also need to be able to stop scrambles from becoming huge plays.

polk scares me. he is as good as Tyler in the USC game. i think we can hold him to under 100 yards, and i think our DBs will be able to keep their receivers in check. this is going to be a very entertaining game.

I just realized this game is in SLC. I fully expect Utah to win.

I'm disappointed in this trolling attempt. Ever since the Utes were invited to join the PAC12, it seems your game has gone downhill and that makes me sad. I miss the old junkie.

A match-up that concerns me this week is Chris Polk vs our linebacking crew. Martinez and Walker are either both smaller or the same size as polk and lack his speed and power. The d line has to have the best game of the year so far so that Marinez and Walker aren't left one on one with Polk. IMO they will lose that battle 7 out of 10 times.

How many snaps did Martinez see against BYU? Seems like Reilly and Anderson saw the field as much as he did. And sure, Walker isn't exactly pretty to watch, but he's a good football player. And it seems like he plays the run well. Pass coverage is a different story.
