Watching ESPN Game Day at Florida State, I am left wondering a bit why the NCAA turns a blind eye to Florida State and their use of Native American names and imagery.
I think most of what they do to be appropriate. I don't mind their spear on their helmet, the nickname or even the actual Seminole warrior they use as a mascot.
But can their "War Chant" and "Tomahawk Chop" be any more cliche and stereotypical?
I think it just highlights how lame the NCAA is. They turn a blind eye (which I have no real problem with) to FSU yet they harass other schools who are far, far less overt in their Native American imagery.
If I'm one of those "other schools", the next time the NCAA comes calling I hand the representatives round trip tickets to Tallahassee and tell them "Take care of Florida State first, then come talk to us."
