Wuap, if you ever correct anyone's Spanish in a sports thread again you'll going to be banned from the sports forums. Totally outrageous behavior.

Raising the bar should become a new Mormon euphemism.

$10 goes a lot further in Costa Rica.

FTR, I was using a colloquial English plural, not the Spanish one so the accent is appropriate. The only real error was the capitalization which is something I did not know (or remember) despite having one of my undergrad degrees in Spanish and 25 years of near-constant immersion. (I lived in Mexico for several months prior to my mission and really began studying the language at the age of 8 after my disappointment with not going to Guatemala as a MP's son). :catfight:

He said he understood and asked if I wanted to be removed from all alumni communication. I told him no, that I didn't hate BYU, I still supported the teams, the faculty, etc, but that the only weapon I have in hoping the trustees change the HC was to withhold donations and explain the reason for doing so.

I know my few dollars matter nothing, but it's what I can do.
    Apparently, it worked.

I would like to think I am about reality. I have heard the mantra that athletes get treated better and some academians resent what coaches at the Universities are paid. I understand that a lot of academians, those on this board excepted, are clueless when it comes to Capitalism and how they benefit from it.

By the way I know you were kidding and I got a LOL out of it.

In addition, a non-athlete does not have his "transgression" made public or speculated on.

An argument can be made that athletes do get treated well and get public adoration that your average student doesn't get. In terms of $$$ to the University though, the athlete is worth more to the University than your average student. Worth far more, in my opinion, than the scholarship money they receive.

Note: I am saying in $$$ terms and am not measuring the worth of a soul.
