Toms job is perfectly safe. This season and next.

At the end of next season, and possibly a losing record, fans will be upset. The BOT will decide what it values more.....a head coach that cares more about Church principles than football principles or an AD who oversaw the transition from MWC to Independence.

Anyone can get fired. And Tom probably realizes that Bronco will be able to get a comparable replace,ent job far more quickly than Tom could. Tom is in the early stages if self preservation mode. I don't blame him, either. The AD is now publicly saying, "hey. Don't blame me guys. I know Riley sucks and bronco is screwing up, too!" that usually doesnt portend good things.

We are guaranteed a losing record next year. We'll be fortunate to win 4 games.

TH isn't getting fired. He's done a good job over the last five years, given the crap he's had to work with.

I don't think Tom Holmoe goes anywhere either. And I don't think he should.

I like Tom. But if the powers that be prefer Bronco as the HC (because of his football fifth mumbo jumbo) then Tom will take the fall for the football failures. Someone has to take the blame for the football stuff. And this season is just the beginning. Next seasons record will be worse, I think.

Tom has some cards in his favor, though. Donors heavily prefer Tom to bronco, mostly because Bronco is an automaton and sometimes even a jerk to fans/donors.

Didn't Hale get canned at the same time Crowton did? I think TH is more competent, but that may not matter.

Bronco will be no closer towards placating fans and doman, if not already gone, will be on the chopping block. In 4 years, I would be very surprised if both Holmoe and Bronco are still at BYU.
