or 3A annual home/away BB games with Louisville, UCONN, Cincy, Notre Dame with at least two of those games in Feb and March. Two additional games rotated between the top non-football schools Georgetown, St. John's, Villanova, Marquette, Depaul, Providence.
    4. Very generous TV rights

Has there been any talk about the 27 month notice that is currently required of B-East teams. That would be the biggest downside of committing to the B-East.

Why commit to this if it is only going to be a few years. It really isn't much better than independence and likely locks to in to commitments you'd rather not keep.

This is where we disagree. Indy is horrible for many reasons and only one reason is the back half of the schedule. There are ways to work around the committments especially if the Big East blows up.

I bet that's pretty close to what we see (conjecture! opinion!).

Seems like things are moving in the right direction in spite of whatever the BoT at BYU does.

Why would notre dame give us an annual football game as part of a condition of BYU joining the Big East for football only?

Why "in spite of"? At each step the BoT approved an improvement in the current situation. Unless you think it's the BoT's fault that BYU didn't just move directly from the WAC to the SEC. Idiots.

It is hard to believe that less than 20 months after the BoT was inspired to declare independence, that the same BoT was inspired to house BYU's programs in the Big East and the WCC, and then only after furiously trying to negotiate entrance into the B12.

Basically, what I am saying is that a reasonable conclusion (not the only conclusion, but a reasonable one) would be that BYU's athletic moves are not inspired by much of anything lately other than desperation and opportunism. Just my opinion, of course.

No. Because BoT makes decisions not based on football but on exposure and perceived value to the mormon missionary effort.

Notre Dame plays multiple Big East teams every year in a a scheduling agreement because of their olympic sports affiliation and they already have a 6 year agreement with BYU why not make BYU one of those Big East teams they play? Seems like something thats as attractive to ND as it is to us, ND definitely isn't going to agree to go to schools like Boise and SMU/Houston/ect..

I wonder what the feelings would be like here/CB if BE decides BYU is taking too long and picks someone else (Like the Big 12 move w/ TCU)..

Some will say Indy is still good etc. But this would mean BYU would of muffed on 2 conference realignments with the only players in town (Who else is going to invite us in the future???).. Does BYU get a second chance with them?? Possibly but these are things I hope they are thinking about if the BOT is sitting on their hands again (If in fact they did that with Big 12)..

                            Typical west coast perception.

How does this apply to BYU? BYU would be a football only Big East member.
