I certainly wouldn't claim any of the moves as "inspired".

Has it ever been stated, other than by a few of the more-believing fans, that any of the above noted conference changes were by inspiration? I'm not trying to be snarky, I honestly don't know.

This was the first line in my post, to which atheistcougar responded:

For the most stalwart among you that may think that God, via the BoT, is at the helm of this, I submit the following:
So my post, and his response, really only apply to that subset of fans. If those fans do not exist here, no worries.

Does BYU get a second chance with them?? Possibly but these are things I hope they are thinking about if the BOT is sitting on their hands again (If in fact they did that with Big 12)..
After missing on the super hot chick who is not very bright and is mentally unstable, BYU gets approached by the ok looking girl that has a decent personality, but has a history of being taken advantage of, and is more than a little slutty. While BYU is looking at itself in the bathroom mirror for a very long time, the slutty girl leaves with the stoner from San Diego. After BYU hears the door close it decides to open the mirrored medicine cabinet. On the lower shelf BYU spies a jar of petroleum jelly and says to itself, "Yeah going solo is just fine."

We should have negociated this as part of the Prop 8 package.
One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

That seems like a meaningless distinction to me, they schedule as a favor to the Big East as a conference for letting them park their sports in the Big East, so why should it matter if the teams you play in football are football only. If you are ND why not make part of the scheduling agreement a team you are already scheduled to play 6 times, seems logical enough.

And they play Pitt pretty much every year and that game will likely be going away, might as well replace it with BYU.

                        Oh, ok. Simple enough then.

If you are right, then I suppose we can sit back and expect an annual matchup with Notre Dame to be announced any week now.

Stealing from Cougarboard, how would you compare the Big East (West) to the PAC12 South? It's not totally clear-cut how to rank the potential BE teams since they don't play in the same conference right now, but if you made an attempt to stack them top to bottom you'd get a comparison that looks kind of like this:

                            USC----Boise State
                            UCLA---Houston
                            ASU----BYU
                            Utah---SMU
                            CU-----Air Force
                            AZ-----UCF

I think BE wins 4-2 in those matchups.

Perhaps this year. However, most years it would be at 4-2 if not 5-1 P12S.

Can Holmoe get Louisville and Rutgers to do a home and home? I'm not sure he can, and certainly not on any regular basis. The hoops team needs help getting teams into the MC and not just on neutral courts.
