Double moran. Virtually nobody calls it Harakiri, whatever that movie poster may say. It's seppuku (same characters, chinese reading instead of Japanese). Probably to avoid the confusion with the announcer.

Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

He's currently searching for Holmoe's statement re: Big 12.

What are you guys talking about? SU is right. There is no evidence of the byu receiving a Big-12 invite, or even getting close to an invite.

Holmoe said as much. Of the few answers we have gotten from the folks at the by, this is one of them.

You may have not noticed this, but there really is no evidence of any conference ever sending out any official invite without it being accepted. So the assumption here is that offers are not made until the details have been worked out.

BYU never got past that stage with the Big 12. But that isn't to say that the Big 12 didn't extend an offer of what an invitation might look like - which BYU counter offered - etc. - etc.

You can say that BYU rejected the Big 12...or you can say that the Big 12 rejected BYU. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle in that neither accepted what the other was offering.

But Holmoe saying that an offer was never extended is just semantics. BYU and the Big 12 were in discussions. I don't know what caused them to break off. But I don't think it is a stretch to believe that BYU would've gotten an invite to the Big 12 if they had closed their eyes and just signed whatever the Big 12 was offering.

That said - I don't know what the hang up was. If it was Sunday Play - then I won't fault BYU for not accepting the proposal that proceeded an official offer. If it was some of the other things that have been suggested, I would find that frustrating.

If we didn't have the ESPN deal, we wouldn't have gone indy. And considering what The Molehill was giving us, if we didn't have The Worl;dwide Leader we'd be scrambling for whatever the BE threw at us. Ironic that last year's lifeboat is preventing us from getting on another ship.

McCann clarified what Holmoe meant on BYUtv. "An official offer only comes after you agree to everything in principal."

Of course. SU is not an idiot. He knows how these things work. He is just twisting the knife. Don't buy any of that crap about his religion. He is one mean SOB (drunk or sober!).
