For the record, it sounds like ESPN is the one holding up BYU this time. Not willing to give up Mountain Time Zone/later time slot filler perhaps? Would have posted Twitter link earlier if I wasn't posting from my phone in a hurry.

They'll still have us with the Big East and they'll gain Boise and AFA. Win/Win for ESPN.Originally posted by UtahJazzFan88 View PostFor the record, it sounds like ESPN is the one holding up BYU this time. I don't think those games were high on the list of "must-see tv" compared to the other games. I too will tune in for a few minutes to watch the Scarlet Knights as well as the Orange team. So advertisers be ready to wooo me during those few minutes. It still is about viewership and advertisers right?Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostI am sure they do. They wanted to and did broadcast BYU vs. NMSU and BYU vs. Idaho. I might actually tune in for a few minutes if they were playing the Scarlet Knights.Last edited by WhyBeYou; 11-18-2011, 03:20 PM.

What happened to the scheduling help that ESPN would give to BYU with the TV deal (at least what Bronco claimed awhile back)? I haven't seen much of it.

Not that this is a surprise, but even though I think it might be better to let the powers that be try to sort out the BCS issues first, the path of least resistance is indeed to accept the BigEast invite, which is going to have a substantial hoops component, if not outright membership by either 2013 or 2014.
We will play ND in November as a feature game, home and home, for years.
This part is my opinion: I don't think the Utah rivalry is going to last because BYU will work to schedule schools in the south and along the west coast to give some heft to its conference schedule, which is what our OOC schedule might look like if we had gone to the B12.

Five out of the current eight teams in the conference all have a shot to win the conference. Furthermore, each of those five teams are essentially tied for 1st. At best the conference will put a 9-3 team into a BCS bowl game. Louisville and Rutgers probably have the easiest road. Can you imagine Louisville going up against VaTech? This conference has a stink to it and its not even funny. Outside of November scheduling I can't imagine why it would be a good idea to go there.Originally posted by woot View PostHere's a reason to accept a BE invite: A 6-5 Louisville team is going to win that conference and go to a BCS bowl.

You can't imagine why moving into a crappy motel 6 by the airport would be better than living in a van down by the river?Originally posted by USU Coug View PostFive out of the current eight teams in the conference all have a shot to win the conference.
