This ND "scheduling agreement" is pretty much a joke

ND playing BE schools since 2005 (after all the good teams left):

    2005: @Pittsburgh, Syracuse
2006: No BE teams on schedule
2007: No BE teams on schedule
    2008: Pittsburgh, Syracuse
    2009: @Pittsburgh, UConn
    2010: Pittsburgh
    2011: @Pittsburgh, USF

So, other than the Pittsburgh game, only Syracuse, UConn and USF have played ND and ALWAYS in South Bend.

Adding Boise State and Houston (if they make the BCS game this year) will be huge to retaining the bid. BYU's been in the BCS rankings I want to say 3-4 times in the past number of years or so. Is it the prettiest situation? No, but I see them keeping it unless the BCS decides to scrap the whole AQ conference system all together. It seems like people gather the assumption that they won't retain the AQ bid because the teams and the Big East name isn't the prettiest situation here.

Ah yes. The Meccas of college sports.

I haven't lived there, but I hear they absolutely live college football there.

I also failed to remember all the Big East football teams in the DC and Boston metropolitan area.

UCONN (Okay this could be a stretch, but it's in Northeast CT), Rutgers (to NY), and if they add Navy (to DC) aren't close enough?

No. Nobody in those major markets gives a flying rip about UConn, Rutgers and Navy.

Soo. BYU, BSU, Houston are all have-nots?? Really?? I would venture to guess that BYU, BSU have better rankings over the last 5 to 8 years then WVU, SU, Pitt..

                2011:
                WVU: Not ranked
                Pitt: Not ranked
                SU: Not ranked

                2010:
                WVU: Not Ranked
                Pitt: Not Ranked
                SU: Not Ranked

                2009:
                WVU: 25
                Pitt: 15
                SU: Not ranked

                2008:
                WVU: 23
                Pitt: Not Ranked
                SU: Not Ranked

                2007
                WVU: Not Ranked
                Pitt: Not Ranked
                SU: Not Ranked

                2006
                WVU: 10
                Pitt: Not Ranked
                SU: Not Ranked

NOW.. Lets see BSU and BYU

                2011
                BYU: Not Ranked
                BSU: 10

                2010:
                BYU: Not Ranked
                BSU: 9

                2009:
                BYU: 12
                BSU: 4

                2008
                BYU: 25
                BSU: 11

                2007
                BYU: 14
                BSU: Not Ranked

                2006
                BYU: 16
                BSU: 4

I would venture to guess.. BE picks up better with BYU and BSU joining then with who is leaving based off of rankings and record.. Get off your doomsday boat...

I think you are wrong. I bet they keep their AQ. According to the BCS website (my bolds):

Standards for future BCS automatic qualification

Under the terms of the agreements with the bowls and television rightsholder, the ACC, Big East, Big 10, Big 12, Pac-12 and SEC will have annual automatic qualification for their champions for the 2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons.

Results from the 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 regular seasons will be evaluated to determine whether a seventh conference earns automatic qualification for the 2012-13 and 2013-14 bowl games.

A conference will become the seventh automatic qualifier if it finishes among the top six conferences in both No. 1 and No. 2 and if its ranking in No. 3 is equal to or greater than 50 percent of the conference with the highest ranking in No. 3.
You will notice it says NOTHING of losing the Automatic Qualification only what it takes to gain the 7th AQ spot. Obviously they can change the contract but it should be noted that the eastern schools still have some political pull and will not lose that AQ without some nasty lawsuits.

I mean BE losing their AQ status is not going to happen...

And by your statement I would say the BE just got better with adding BYU and BSU compared if they still had WVU, SU, and Pitt... Thanks for help..

I'm not sure if that's BCS rankings or regular rankings, but also don't forget that UCF finished in the BCS rankings and regular rankings 24/25, and while it is Conference USA, they've been solid in C-USA.

What would those schools be ranked if they played Boise and BYU's schedule? Keep in mind, BSU and BYU have been beating up on some of the worst teams in the country.
