American Airlines has some really good prices right now: SLC to AUS depart Fri throughout the day, return Sunday throughout the day, $350 r/t all in, including tax, per person. I have been checking these flights every day and this is one of the better deals out there that I have seen for a confirmed seat.
DDD and MMM, headed to Cowtown.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Uncle Ted, When do you find out the location of the seat? After you purchase it? Right now the website indicates that location is TBD. Is the BYU seating going to be in Sec 32? Yikes. Not a huge fan of that section.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostYes, BYU fans tend to be somewhat price sensitive. I remember being at a game in provo a while back and noticed that a family that I was sitting near had pulled out packages top romen noodles out of their pockets for their kids to munch on during the game.
The tickets I got this morning don't seem bad. Row 20 in the lower level. This is better than I could find on stubhub for $100 or less.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Yeah, Sec 32 looks pretty bad. When I go through the process, it doesn't tell me what section, but reported my seats would be in Row 18! Maybe it's Section 29? Maybe not.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostUncle Ted, When do you find out the location of the seat? After you purchase it? Right now the website indicates that location is TBD. From one eligible AARP fellow who refuses to join to an AARP member, he is my adivce.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostWith my sarcasm meter turned to the "off" position, I can't tell from the guidance previous given if I should buy the $100 CC tix, or wait a bit. Would someone gently guide this AARP member?
Flight about $360. Don't know hotel cost, but I am guessing $300. Food and entertainment, don't know but it will be a bit. Of course double that because the better half is going too.
Now you have spent that much money and are going to see Texas in their stadium. If I had your money, why would I sit anywhere outside of the 20 yard line and not in lower deck?
Hopefully you didn't always go on the cheap when you dated your wife.

It could also be row 18 of the upper deck corners, at least per Uncle Ted's pic that he posted. I would prefer that to Sec 32 lowers. Actually, Sec 32 lowers could wind up being some of the worst seats in the stadium, frankly. At that angle, I would want to be halfway up to see the length of the field.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostYeah, Sec 32 looks pretty bad. At $100, I don't see the incentive to buy these seats right now unless you are wanting to sit in a bigger group together and you happen to know a Legacy 4. Just my opinion, though.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Yeah, the section number was not given but it did say level 1 row 20. The only level 1 section for the visitors is 32 (see the seating chart I posted), I believe.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostUncle Ted, When do you find out the location of the seat? BYU71 is correctamundo.
I guess it goes to show that senior citizens, although slow and dangerous behind the wheel, can still serve a purpose. Don't you go dying on me!Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I know a couple of Legacy V's. Honestly, the price isn't my primary concern, it's availability. Of course, price matters somewhat, I suppose.Originally posted by byu71 View PostFrom one eligible AARP fellow who refuses to join to an AARP member, he is my adivce.

Anyway, should I grab the tix that are available now and, if they're in 32, totally suck, or do I hold out for something better, like tickets that permit you to see the game without craning your neck far to the right?

About any tickets at the lower level are going for big $$$ on stubhub. I actually need to pick up some more tickets for my kids so I am waiting on those to see if find something good on stubhub or something.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostIt could also be row 18 of the upper deck corners, at least per Uncle Ted's pic that he posted. I don't know how to read stub hub that well. If there were tickets available now around the 30 yard line half way up to the top of the lower deck and around $200, I would slap the money down now and forget it.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostHonestly, the price isn't my primary concern, it's availability. My brother ( the one you ministered to) on the other hand would wait, because if he didn't and those same tickets showed up later for $175, he would go into depression for about a month.

Uncle Ted and JeffLebowski get a very low grade on prepping Cuffers for this game. Let's get some information please. We are high-end fans...we want high-end information!
The linked picture this morning is nice, but how bad are upper decks in this stadium? Is Sec 32 bad seating? Is there a sunny side and a shady side? What are the sight lines like? What does the ticket action look like on game day when the team is good and when the team is not as good? This doesnt even speak of things to do, go and see on and off campus, where to eat, etc. You guys are supposed to be Longhorn fans, act like it. Give us the scoop. Did you not go to football games there???
Also, I think highly of you guys and think you are both awesome. Much love, brothers!Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

My flight cost is a tank of gas that it takes to run down I-35 to "redneck-hippy" town and back. We may or may not stop in Waco for a motel on the way back. But when it comes to tickets, however, I always it is only the best for my bride. The four tickets I have now may be for the kids. I'll pick up a few nice ones on stubhub for me and the wife."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.
