Pick 6 was in the second half and it was a huge back breaker because we were only down 3 and the offense was finally starting to put it together.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

But how bad is your luck when you throw a pick six in the SECOND half? Third quarter, to be precise.

The 2nd half? I guess I wasn't paying much attention.

Still, are you saying it was less fortunate than the timing of the fumble and return?

            My non-HD thoughts:

O-line was awesome. They were nails. Except that 4th and 1, they blew up ole miss.

            Defense was as advertised.

            Apo is awesome.

Heaps looks skittish at first, but he won my respect. Pick six? No problem - I'll drive down again. Missed FG? No worries. I'll throw a TD pass after a long drive.

I want to have Van Noy's babies.

I'll take that as a compliment, considering the source.

Heaps settled down and besides staring down his receiver on the pick was solid in the 2nd half. I like the idea behind the offense just need to execute better.

The loss of Quezada was pretty big we didn't have a great compliment to JJ. JJ had another good game he is mr. consistent.

I think 10 guys had catches.

Uale was Uale. Cover two on the dropped TD by Ole Miss and he was nowhere to be found.

Eason got abused. Joe Sampson and Preston hadley were good.

                Sorenson had a nice game.

KVN and JP were sick. Both had great games.

Tuiloma, Manu, and Hebron dominated that vaunted Ole Miss O-line.

Took out their top 3 running backs all on similar plays. I thought that was interesting, BYUs DBs were cutting their legs and putting helmets on their shins.

Our O-line held up nicely but the sack and other hit on jake were missed blitz pick ups by Kariya.

Offense needs to work on their red zone play calling and execution.

I thought it was weird when Apo lined up wrong they called a timeout and then ran the same play out of the timeout when you could see Heaps explaiing the play to Apo. No surprise it went for a 3 yard loss.

1-0 is really all that matters, need to keep improving though.

Bronco is the man. If I had two people to pick to bring to a street fight with me it would be Bronco and Kimbo Slice. Kimbo would be punching guys eyes out of their sockets, while Bronco would just take hits and stair people down as they walk away with broken hands.

I would rather see the D playing well than the O. IMO, all of the issues we had on O are easy fixes. Don't feel we looked down field enough either, especially against a man to man D.

Lastly, Heaps needs to stop zeroing in on his targets (got a little better in the second half). I felt like I was watching Max Hall against TCU in the first half.

Was the TD from the fumble luck or an amazing defensive play?

We can play this all day.

I feel like we are over reacting a bit to the offense. They were bad in the first half but looked fine in the 2nd. Here are all our 2nd half drives.

                        8 plays 67 yards
                        10 plays 66 yards
                        8 plays 72 yards
                        6 plays 21 yards
1 play -2 yards (just the kneel at the end)

There was just some untimely miscues that need to be ironed out, but it's not like they were totally inept moving the ball or anything. And, really, the first half is to be expected with a brand new oc and a freshman getting a bunch reps at wideout. They'll be fine as everyone continues to get on the same page.

For all the firesides, management speak, and the "football is 5th" crap, when it's go time and he's running that defense he's all about "fu**in a, I love this shit".

I agree completely great job moving it between the 20s, just sure up the red zone execution and play calling.

My thoughts as well. Plenty of long sustained drives we just need to clean up the mistakes. This game could have been a blow out had the offense not shot itself in the foot a few times.

That was a roller coaster to watch. I don't know what to take out of this game. Maybe Ole Miss has improved defensively. What do you Xs and Os types think? Did the offense play that bad or did Ole Miss play pretty good? Those defensive back were pretty quick.
