So looking at next years schedule is really interesting. It looked like murderers row early on especially with how BYU was playing and who was on it. Now all of the sudden it looks much more manageable.

at Texas will of course be a very tough game and they will bounce back but they are a 5-7 team with no quarterback.

Oregon State another perrenial tough team is also going to be coming off a 5-7 season.

Ole Miss was 4-8 and they lose Masoli.

Utah at home looks much more winnable next year.

UCF at home is also a winnable game.

Utah State at home is a revenge game that I think we win big.

at Lousiana Tech- win
at Hawaii- toss up
Idaho- win
San Jose State- win
New Mexico State- win

It looks like we could potentially get to 10 wins again next season.

Are the Hawaii and the Louisiana Tech games scheduled for consecutive weeks? That is an insane amount of travel.

I wish we could rearrange this schedule to play some of the cupcakes at the beginning of the season.

CJ, why would you think Jray beats out Uale or anyone at safety? He's had about 20 safeties ahead of him on the depth chart. What makes you think he's not going to be a dud?

Uale is going to start. His experience will mean something to Mendenhall. With a more experienced and talented LB corps, I doubt the safeties have to make the same plays. Good safety play reverts to Quinn Gooch and the walk on from Texas who just always had themselves in the right position. The LBs will be the playmakers.

I meant Sampson.

On offense, I expect the tight ends to start dominating the middle of the field. I don't yet know who it will be, but I think the tight ends start to look like BYU tight ends of old next year. With that development alone, BYU will be formidable against just about every foe offensively. The OL will be great and the RB corps while not great will be better. Throw in Heaps' arm, BYU will be able to move the ball through the air to Jacobsen, Hoffman, CHambers and Hafoka. With the tight ends starting to dominate the middle, BYU will be hard to defend. The great wildcard is the role that Phillips and Apo will play, who probably have more playmaking ability than any of the current skill players - save Jacobsen if the Wizard of Oz gives him a heart. If Anae is running the offense I doubt there is the efforts to incorporate the two playmaking newcomers as much as a new OC might seek to utilize their unique skillsets.

It wouldn't be a bad thing if he goes on a mission after this year. I think he could be good in time. If he goes then I think Hadley is the back up SS behind Sampson and Kori Gaines is the #2 BC.

It also sets up a future SS/FS combo of Sorenson and Bills. That will be a nipple hardening double duo of Andrew Rich as seniors. I think Sorenson redshirts next year and then backs up/plays special teams for a year before starting at SS for two years. I think Bills is the starting FS from the first game in 2012.

Speredon is not going to apply for a Med RS, he's done with football. If H Reynolds does in fact start there he will be an improvement over Speredon.

Hard to tell. With the impending NFL labor strife coming....I wonder how many Sophomores and Juniors that could declare may not do so just because of all the uncertainty?

You can never plan too early. I need to decide which away game the boys and I are going to go to. Ole, Miss., Texas or Oregon St.

Besides who we play, cost to get there and what kind of golf courses are in the area are also important considerations. I am leaning Texas, but we went to Texas when we played Oklahoma.

Ole Miss is a fabulous place for a college game. The rumor down that way is that when General William Tecumseh Sherman got to Oxford he decided Ole Miss University was too beautiful to burn to the ground. I am not really sure if Shermann's Army really got near Oxford, but it is a cool rumor!

The Coeds in cocktail dresses and the lads in khakis, white shirt (an orthodox mormon such as yourself should feel right at home) and tie is a nice touch.
