I guess I haven't seen him compared to Hoffman yet. I said I *hope* he's the next Hoffman (which to me just means a diamond-in-the-rough type), but expressed doubt in my post, as did Goat. I haven't read anything that says he is, and most of the comments about him have been wondering why we offered a scholarship and if he's done anything so far to make him seem worthy of it.

I thought I remembered at least one practice report or tweet about how he was showing really well one day. But, then again, that's just one day.

How many high-school quarterbacks do we have in the pipeline between high school commits and during-mission transfers? I've never kept track, but it seems like there's a glut of incredible high school quarterbacks coming in the next few years that want to play under Doman. Maybe I'm just reading the same names over and over again.

I guess the hype that he could be the next Cody Hoffman.

I've seen enough to say he is somewhere between Hoffman and O'neil chambers in skill level. He'll be serviceable.

Mangum- Fr (at least 4 star)
Kuresa- Mission (2 star)

Uale has been out with rib injury, and Hague has made the most of it...Carter Mees is another player who has really moved up this fall

two-deep at both TE and CB appear close to being set...curious to see who wins out at FS...Hague getting plenty of looks with the 1s

Coach Reynolds says that Holt has made "drastic improvements" in his game over the past six months...clearly the leader of the TE group

says that Holt has a strut to him now that he wants the other TEs to acquire...says that Mathews is the 2nd TE currently

He was optimistic on the strides that both Wilson and Mahina have made this fall...going to mainly use 2 TEs, but will go 3 deep

would be interesting to see where Wilson would be currently had he been healthy during spring..not participating put him behind quite a bit

Sounds like Hague may end up with that spot right out of the gates.

I was hoping for a repeat of the 2007 TE situation last year, where Pitta and George were so steady from the beginning that a couple of bad plays at UCLA meant So'oto was on his way to defense.

None of the TEs was that steady last year, but I thought Mahina showed some of the best flashes. I guess either he hasn't improved or everyone else has stepped it up (or both). After reading Doman's quote about aspiring to 2nd and 8, my first thought was how nice it was to have that Hall-to-Pitta seven or eight yards.

I agree, also Stehly Reden has moved from D-line to tight end. Add Colby Jorgensen and we have 8 viable options at the position.

I haven't seen any of these guys play this fall, but why move Reden to TE and Mahina to DE? Reden can't be a better option at TE than Mahina is. Is it that Mahina is a better DE prospect than Reden is?
