Honestly when I think about it - he's been in the program now for well over a year and has apparently been unable to add ANY weight - if that doesn't change then playing around 200 pounds at his height basically means that he can't be an every down player as an OLB. A 6'5 200 dude would get obliterated in run defense every single time. He's still just a freshman and granted were pretty stacked at WR... but it just seems like a better place for him.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostSeeing the way he's built, I thought about a switch to WR as well - he didn't even look like a football player - let alone a OLB or DE - to me because he was so thin, especially in the legs, IMO. Just looked like tall skinny kid who thought it would be fun to put on a uniform and hang out with the team. But then when you focus on him from the snap, you quickly see that same kid you saw on youtube who couldn't be blocked in HS. He's a gamer and a playmaker who gets it in terms of playing defensive football. Again, I'm basing my comments on just a handful of plays, so take all this with a grain of salt, but I think if you put him at WR, he would make plays there as well - it looks to be the way he's wired.
But who knows, maybe there's some magic pill that can help him put on the 30 pounds he has to find.Ute-ī sunt fīmī differtī

I think he will be fine. When I watched Oaks Christian play against Heaps Skyline high team 2 years ago, Fua was by far the best player on the field. He is a disruptive force and I think he will be fine if he plays at 205 or 210.Originally posted by oxcoug View PostHonestly when I think about it - he's been in the program now for well over a year and has apparently been unable to add ANY weight - if that doesn't change then playing around 200 pounds at his height basically means that he can't be an every down player as an OLB. Let me clarify that the talent level at DB is IMO significantly lower than it is at linebacker. Just that the rotation in who plays will be similar.Originally posted by nikuman View PostThis is a good thing. I'm getting really excited for football season now.
I wasn't as impressed with the DBs as Cam or Junkie were, though admittedly my focus was more on the offense and less on the defense. In other words, secondary is still a concern for me. I was also a little underwhelmed by the D-Line, though I believe most of that is a product of how efficient our offensive line actually is.Last edited by Sizzle; 08-14-2011, 10:15 AM.

Will ask Bronco in a minute, but James Lark may have overtaken Riley Nelson as No. 2 QB on #BYU depth chart. Lark with twos today.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I think if he doesn't have it by the first game, he will be starting by at least the 4th game.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostHopefully this is a sign Hague is going to take the spot.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Because it sounds like (to me) he's making too many plays there. Just my prediction. I haven't seen anyone live, obviously.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostWhy?Last edited by falafel; 08-15-2011, 11:49 AM.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. Malosi's wife stayed in hawai'I when he came up to provo. At first I thought it was weird, but my thought right now is maybe she was pregnant and stayed there to have the baby or something. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.
