Exactly how I feel. If I'm Utah, I'm pretty concerned about both the bowl game and the future--there will be no 2007-08 transformation (and 2008 would never have happened in the PAC 10 anyway). I like our future. If we're going to put the football gods in our debt, this is the game to do it.At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I'm with you. Even at 6-6, I find it hard to be disappointed in this season given how it was looking 5 weeks ago. The difference between Utah and BYU this season? BYU took a while to get there. But nobody except the most biased can say that these teams are anything but evernly matched right now. Today showed that. And I think that they are both average teams. Maybe a bit better than that but not what I'd call good and certainly not great.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostHonestly, I was depressed for about 5 minutes. Now I feel fine. We are 6-6 and we played a helluva game with some very stupid gifts that did us in. No big deal.
The future is incredibly bright for BYU IMO. Heaps, Hoffman, Van Noy, Quezada, etc. are going to be a lot of fun to watch. There are som many freshmen I'm sure I'm missing a lot ... those are just who come to mind."It's true that everything happens for a reason. BTW, I hadn't listened to Heaps much until tonight's post-game, and I thought he did a very nice job. Obviously disappointed, but not overly so, very poised, and complimentary to his own players as well as the Utes. My confidence level with respect to Heaps is so much higher today than it was in October. I can sleep better with this loss, probably more than any other FB loss to the Utes in my lifetime.

His schedule is so busy that he isn't going to have the time to comment on either of those things.Originally posted by YOhio View PostLA Ute loses big tonight. His players were total post-game clowns and the fans stormed the field after beating a mediocre BYU. Lol. I bet he feels so foolish.Get confident, stupid

If you look back in the post. I said it was a great call. I liked that we were trying to win. Hoffman just flat out dropped it. I really hope these receivers all work their asses off this offseason. They better be in front of the jugs machine every day catching.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostWhat do you guys think about Bronco going for that 4th down? Hindsight says it was the wrong decision. However the playcall was good and Hoffman just dropped the pass. If he completes that I think we score a TD there.
Its hard to second guess it when the play actually worked."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

I just didn't get that whole last minute...setting up for a field goal vs. trying to get into the end zone. Nothing against Payne, because he's been fairly solid the last couple of years within 40 yards, however, the coaches have never shown much confidence in him after his disastrous first year. Now to put the game on his shoulders? Of course he had nothing to do with the block, but was anyone else less than confident he'd nail it?
Regardless, I'm proud of the Cougs today and especially the heart they've shown the last half of the season. Excited for next year!Last edited by venkman; 11-27-2010, 05:26 PM."Remember to double tap"

I was nervous, but that was about where he was when he nailed the last kick. I agree with the coaching decision. They made a play. All there is to it.Originally posted by venkman View PostI just didn't get that whole last minute...setting up for a field goal vs. trying to get into the end zone. BYU's been on the good end of blocked kicks to win the game. Now we're on the bad end. Just how it goes.τὸν ἥλιον ἀνατέλλοντα πλείονες ἢ δυόμενον προσκυνοῦσιν

I'm guessing they were afraid of taking a big sack or a turnover. I thought they were a little conservative considering they were at the 25.Originally posted by venkman View PostI just didn't get that whole last minute...setting up for a field goal vs. trying to get into the end zone.
