Sorry, 'bout that. Would it have been better had I said that Burton is still blocking the kick?"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

I hope you are posting via cell phone. You should be kicking zoot asses for storming the field after beating BYU's worst team in a decade.Originally posted by il Padrino Ute View PostWay to be a killjoy.
Actually, I want to know if you folks are like me and felt more relieved on the last play of a game like this than happy that your team won.Just try it once. One beer or one cigarette or one porno movie won't hurt. - Dallin H. Oaks

Me? Post from a cell phone? That would require owning a cell phone.Originally posted by BlueHair View PostI hope you are posting via cell phone. You should be kicking zoot asses for storming the field after beating BYU's worst team in a decade.
I was amused about the rushing of the field, but there's not much I could have done about it. The majority of those fools probably had no idea that Utah played football before Urban Meyer came to Utah, so they aren't yet familiar with how to appreciate a win."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

Joking aside, I think it's fine to rush the field. Unless of course, you are older than college age.Originally posted by il Padrino Ute View PostMe? Post from a cell phone? That would require owning a cell phone.

Just got back from the game. Ugly win but I'll take it. Last year I felt pretty good about a true freshman quarterback losing on the road in OT. It seems like our QB has regressed this year; he doesn't seem to have any confidence and has trouble working through progressions - if the first read isn't there he goes to the check down.
From where I was sitting it was tough to tell about the questionable calls - the only replay I had was the video screen at the stadium. I didn't agree with the Blechen helmet-to-helmet call; the Mahina sideline catch looked good on replay; the only view showed of the fumbled INT looked like the leg was touching the ground - all the way up to, but not including the kneecap. I don't know what constitutes the "knee" in football but his kneecap never hit in the view I saw. I'll have to watch the replay at home. Serious question about refs and next year. With BYU independent who provides the refs for the home games?
Lot of upside to BYU's team next year. I have confidence in Whit getting this team ready for the upcoming bowl and next season."You interns are like swallows. You shit all over my patients for six weeks and then fly off."
"Don't be sorry, it's not your fault. It's my fault for overestimating your competence."

The indifference over the game is pretty funny. I think mainly because this game meant nothing in the world of college football. No conference title, no BCS berth, Utah is pretty much locked in to the LV bowl. I mean it was for bragging rights and pride.
The best part is even though Utah won they have ten times the uncertainty going in to next season as BYU. That is why most people are quiet. If I were a ute fan I would not say a word either it would be more like a sense of relief than anything.
You go in to the Pac-12 next year with no qb, no linebackers, and a coaching staff that looked like a deer in the headlights for 4 quarters. Then you get to start the season against USC and this same BYU team who will be at home.
For BYU you are excited about the fact that you played so many freshman, you return almost your whole O-line if Reynolds comes back, you return Manumaleuna, Fuga, PUtnam (who finally stepped up), and Jordan Richardson along the D-line. You return every single linebacker except Shane Hunter. The secondary is the only real concern but you do return Eason (parttime starter) and Uale (yikes!).
The skill positions players all but Ashworth come back. The bottom line is the future is very bright and you would have to expect Heaps to progress especially with an extra month of practice and a bowl game. So yeah to be honest I feel "indifferent" about this game I am excited for the future it sucks to lose but I like the direction we are heading.*Banned*

I have been trying to think of excuses for Wynn's sophomore slump since TCU... I'm not even convincing myself anymore.
I think he becomes a head case under pressure. I don't know if it is going to be possible to coach that out of him."We should remember that one man is much the same as another, and that he is best who is trained in the severest school."
