Why suspend him now? Win out and roll the dice that nothing happens for several years.Originally posted by BoylenOver View PostIt's kind of funny to think that Alabama suspended Andre Smith from the Sugar Bowl in '08 when he spoke with an agent, and UNC suspended all those players this season because they went to a house party thrown by an agent. All that stuff looks like volunteer work at the local soup kitchen compared to this, and the Auburn BoT has no inclination to suspend Newton for any amount of time.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I kind of feel this way too. If it is true, all of it, and the Auburn BOT gets charged criminally, I wonder what will happen to the college sports landscape.Originally posted by Surfah View PostI want all of that to be true. All of it. Unreal read even if a lot of it may be conspiracy theory.Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

Alabama has fired the PA person that played "Take the Money and Run" and "Son of A Preacher Man" during the Auburn/Alabama game."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I didn't know those songs were played. That's hilarious!

I thought so too. Some others have taken the following approach:Originally posted by pellegrino View Post

don't misunderstand, just because it's completely declasse doesn't mean it isn't funny. Were I an Aubie I'd be pissed.Originally posted by DrumNFeather View PostI thought so too. Some others have taken the following approach:

Looks like Cam is in the clear. NCAA rules him eligible to play in the SEC title game.

Also how the hell do they rule him ineligible yesterday and not a single leak of it anywhere. The SEC and Auburn immediately appeal and less than 24 hours later they overturn their decision?Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostI see. this makes a ton of sense and seems very consistent.
F you, NCAA.
:usc:
IMO this is worse than Bush. Bush's parents received improper benefits while Reggie was in school. Ol' Cecil was selling his son to the highest bidder. The NCAA said there our violations but he's still eligible? WTF?"Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

Not only that, but there are allegations of direct institutional involvement here. The strongest allegations against SC were that SC "should have known" that Lake was giving Bush's parents cash. There was never any allegation that SC was involved in any of the Lake stuff. In this case, there are accusations that the BOT was involved in a pay scheme!Originally posted by Surfah View PostAlso how the hell do they rule him ineligible yesterday and not a single leak of it anywhere. How does the NCAA rule on this so quickly and declare him eligible? It took them over 5 years for the SC stuff and they basically dropped a bomb on the program.

I cannot believe this. USC fans have to be livid. And you know who else? TCU. TCU would be in a the MNC game against Oregon if the NCAA upheld their original decision. And that is why he's eligible. If Auburn weren't the #1 team in the country and Cam the overwhelming Heisman favorite then I have to believe they'd get the hammer. This seriously makes me sick.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostNot only that, but there are allegations of direct institutional involvement here. Don't worry about it. Yahoo! Sports will certainly get to the truth a couple of years from now and strip auburn of everything.

The NCAA takes the word of a convicted felon re: the SC case and then apparently ignores firsthand accounts of MSU employees that the Newtons were obviously aware of what was taking place.
Crazy Mike Garrett was probably right after all....USC envy. Seriously, SCrew the NCAA and SCrew the SEC. Bunch of a-holes.
