It's kind of funny to think that Alabama suspended Andre Smith from the Sugar Bowl in '08 when he spoke with an agent, and UNC suspended all those players this season because they went to a house party thrown by an agent. All that stuff looks like volunteer work at the local soup kitchen compared to this, and the Auburn BoT has no inclination to suspend Newton for any amount of time.

Why suspend him now? Win out and roll the dice that nothing happens for several years.

Also how the hell do they rule him ineligible yesterday and not a single leak of it anywhere. The SEC and Auburn immediately appeal and less than 24 hours later they overturn their decision?

IMO this is worse than Bush. Bush's parents received improper benefits while Reggie was in school. Ol' Cecil was selling his son to the highest bidder. The NCAA said there our violations but he's still eligible? WTF?

Not only that, but there are allegations of direct institutional involvement here. The strongest allegations against SC were that SC "should have known" that Lake was giving Bush's parents cash. There was never any allegation that SC was involved in any of the Lake stuff. In this case, there are accusations that the BOT was involved in a pay scheme!

The NCAA takes the word of a convicted felon re: the SC case and then apparently ignores firsthand accounts of MSU employees that the Newtons were obviously aware of what was taking place.

Crazy Mike Garrett was probably right after all....USC envy. Seriously, SCrew the NCAA and SCrew the SEC. Bunch of a-holes.
