Yep. Junkie makes his case as to why Utah will be horrible, yet Utah fans could care less about BYU's trajectory, nor have they made any passioned plea for why it will be worse. We all know who this game means more for. It certainly isn't Utah fans.
Gee, thanks for ruining it.
"It's devastating, because we lost to a team that's not even in the Pac-12. To lose to Utah State is horrible." - John White IV
Which of course explains your visceral reaction following the game.
The dynamics change now that we're no longer conference foes. I don't think there's any doubt about that, especially with the game in September and not November. But I gotta credit CJ for one thing -- he'll do his damndest to make sure he gets a rise out of Ute fans.
I definetly agree. In fact I think losing Cox won't even register as a blip on the radar. They'll be fine at D-line. If I remember correctly Whittingham admitted they oversigned at that position the last 2-3 seasons because they were stuck with depth issues at one time and he swore that would never happen again while he was the head coach.
Which might explain their linebacker problems now.
The linebacker depth is bad. That needs to be a focus with some of the remaining guys they bring in. Fotu and JJ will help if they can get healthy but I have heard a rumor that JJ might be done for his career.

Dang that sucks. I really like JJ. Good guy on and off the field.

I don't know you from Adam, but in the short time I've been on here it would seem to me (and from what I've read, to others) that you are just as guilty of this when it comes to getting a rise out of BYU fans. I could be wrong.
Here's a question: How comfortable are Ute fans with their current quarterback situation?
Even if Wynn does "recover". From what I've heard he might be permanently damaged goods and not only physically.
It's a rather tenuous situation going into the new conference.
Robles might be the answer....but if/when Wynn gets knocked out or pulled from another game due to injury or poor performance, then Robles (assuming he beats out Shreeve and the other Freshman signee their bringing in) will be put into quite the refiners fire. That doesn't bode well for 2011...but could prove fruitful in seasons beyond that.
I think our QB situation heading into 2011 is better than it was heading into 2009. A healthy Wynn in 2011 is a better option than a fresh-out-of-JUCO Cain in 2009. Redshirt sophomore Robles is better than true freshman Wynn. I doubt anyone cuts bait from Shreve or Brown, a la Corbin Louks in 2009. From a numbers and experience level, our QB situation is better across the board.

I'm far more complimentary of BYU than CJ will ever be of Utah.
I don't get too excited about this sort of cahtter in the off season (or almost off-season) but I will say I sure enjoyed Hotlunch's posts more when he was pretending to like BYU.
You have no one to blame but yourselves.
"The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."
"They talk about the economy this year. Hey, my hairline is in recession, my waistline is in inflation. Altogether, I'm in a depression."
"I like to bike. I could beat Lance Armstrong, only because he couldn't pass me if he was behind me."

Anyone know about the rumor concerning Thretton Polamu (sp?) joining the team. He is a former pro rugby player who played rugby at Utah last year
"You interns are like swallows. You shit all over my patients for six weeks and then fly off."
"Don't be sorry, it's not your fault. It's my fault for overestimating your competence."

If he can get enough credits at SLCC, he will be here for the Spring.

He had good reason to be a BYU fan before and he has an equally good reason to hate BYU now.
