I wonder if Sark is regretting going for it on 4th down earlier in the quarter?
The honor of Lavell was disgraced by that call. Sark is another of those that everyone assumed was a great coach because he was an assistant for a dominant team. I thought he was awful tonight. BYU is a decent team, but his offense should have been able to move the ball tonight. His special teams lost the game for him and that individual call was ballistically stupid.
Could he be Ed Orgeron part duece?

Still trying to kiss up to atone for some of your past misdeeds, eh?
Nay. It is a gift not given grudgingly.

Me and UtahDan were watching the game together and commented on the play calling by UDubb. We both said how vanilla it was and that they weren't letting Locker go.

I don't like the call down by 6, maybe down by 7, but down by six you are basically telling your team "I don't have the confidence that we will get down here again". This game would likely be in OT but for that decision.

Sark isn't a good coach, he proved that tonight. He got some motivation last year that pulled out a couple of wins. They have more blown coverages in the secondary than any team can have and win, but at least they are playing Holt $1,000,000 a year to be DC.
Someone has been saying for over a year that The Stone the Builders Rejected isn't that good, but Todd McShay disagrees still.
They lose at least 7 games this year, and if they call 15 QB draws a game Husky fans will get to see Nick Montana play sooner rather than later.
Perfect day. BYU and Oregon win. Washington and Beavers lose.
good win, I thought the secondary play was spotty and there was a definate lack of a pass rush for the most part. Of the two QBs I thought Nelson had the better game, but Heaps had the better arm. Heaps need to fall out of love with it though. It seemed he was trying to through it thru people when he didn't need to. If I were to give the game a grade it would be a C+/B- FWIW

Tick was kind enough to offer me an extra ticket. A few thoughts:
-DiLuigi was running a lot harder in the 2nd half. It really helped set up the offense.
-Washington's run game was feast or famine. They either ran for 20 yards or 2 yards.
-I'm not sure why BYU went for 2 in the first half. And if you're going to do that, why not go for 2 again in the 2nd half?
-BYU's defense is pretty good. They made some important plays when they needed to.
-Stephenson was the MVP. He really tilted field position in favor of the home team.
-Locker didn't have a great game. Made some big plays, but didn't do much with his legs, and needed to step up on those 4th downs.
-UW brought a nice crowd. And the ones that sat by us were nothing but class.
I got to meet a lot of guys I haven't met before. YOhio, RC, PAC, Drunk Tank, filsdepac. Thanks to Tick, DT, and FM for hosting the tailgate. The food was delicious, and the company was excellent.
P.S. my arms baked. And I probably have a weird tan line in a few places above my shoulders.

YEAH!!!! I doubted we would win but with no turnovers and some crappy catching/play calling by udub we pull it out. This was also my introduction to Heaps and that kid is special. Hope he takes some steam off so Jacobson can make a catch or two.

I love Romney Fuga and Eathyn Manumaleuna. Goat has been preaching for awhile that the upgrade on the D-line would be noticeable. I should have listened. They impressed.
Our OL is filthy, sick. I love them. Man, good run blocking. Awesome pass protection. Along with this, our backs' ability to pick up the blitzer today was great.
JJ Diluigi looked good today. I am not that worried anymore about our running game. I believe we surpassed our average from last year today.
The 2 QB system didn't look bad. Nelson showed me quite a bit. It definitely hurts Heaps more. As a pocket passer he can't get into a rhythm well playing every other series. Also, the WRs suffer having to catch a roll of toilet paper from Nelson and then a bullet from Heaps. Heaps had at least 2-3 passes dropped that should have been caught. Heaps will develop some touch and then he'll be disgustingly good. I still feel that Bronco should name a starter one way or the other. After today, I'd be fine with either leading this team, especially given our OL and seemingly adequate run game.
Kearse got between our safeties and Hunter way too much. Logan and Bradley made some really nice plays on the ball. Pendleton and Rich are studs. Rich lays the wood. Man he had Polk dazed on the hit.
Special teams were pretty good aside from Payne's missed kick. Can't leave points off the board like that. Stephenson had a great game. Our coverage was also really good.

I think that Heaps' ability to throw the ball will improve the rush game over the year. I think teams will catch onto Nelson, as I don't really think he is that athletic. I have been a fan of Jake Heaps since I went to practice, I really think that kid can be great at throwing the ball this year. But I understand why they love Nelson so much. He is gutsy and things happen when he is on the field.
I am with you and wish they would pick one or the other, but it was a fun win either way. However, I ain't poppin' any bubbly as I suspect Washington is going to be a bad team.

If anything, tonight's game showed me a lot of promise for the future.
This was a pretty evenly matched game looking at the stats. Except for ToP. We wore down the defense by keeping them on the field. Bronco continues to win the close ones.

I thought the OL looked pretty average for most of the game, but was able to take advantage in the second half when Washington was gassed from playing at altitude. Washington's DL pretty much dominated our OL in the first half. I think "filthy sick" is a bit hyperbolic.

It was a bit hyperbolic. But they were much better than average.

He's great misdirection, but we still really missed Unga's ability to slam it between the tackles. You got in those short down and distance situations last year and Harvey was just automatic at keeping the drive going. I never felt comfortable or confident tonight in those situations.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.
