  • Heap has a pretty severe case of the unnecessary bullets, just like Beck did early on. Dude needs to get over his arm.

Yeah - just because you can throw a bullet doesn't mean you always should. He's going to be a great one, I think, but needs to refine a thing or two. I'm not worried about him. And Nelson has really done a good job with the offense.

        • I wonder if Sark is regretting going for it on 4th down earlier in the quarter?

I imagine there were three reasons: Bradford, McCoy, and Tebow.

Good point. I am no longer wondering.

                • This is a good win for BYU, regardless of whether or not Washington is a tough opponent. First game of the year, brand new QB system, at home. A win in that situation is great, and I've gotta think super for the players' confidence. Congrats to the Cougars.

Once he learns a touch pass, there is nothing but upside for that kid.

                    • There were two negatives to the game: the defense gave up some big plays that scared me, and Mitch Payne, who I do not doubt is a wonderful person, is a horrible, horrible kicker.

                      • Riley Nelson is a tough SOB and one thing was clear tonight - he is definitely more Doman than Pendleton and even comparing him to Doman might be underestimating him a bit. He's a better athlete without a doubt.

                          • A few thoughts ...

                            1. Gotta love a W. As I told PAC at the tailgate, I had no idea what to expect from this game. was puzzled as to what to expect from this team. I am now pleasantly surprised.

                            2. Heaps is going to be a stud ... truly special. But he's not quite there yet.

                            3. The 2 QB thing still doesn't give me warm fuzzies but I can see why they are doing it. Neither is clearly better. And what a great way to develop Heaps rather than just mop-up duties.

                            4. Note to the media. There was not a Hesiman candidate on the field tonight. There just wasn't. Get over the Locker hype.

                            5. This team will be good this year. Not BCS buster good, but good. I could see 10 wins again. Would be disappointed at less than 9.
