Give me the defense from yesterday with our typical offensive performance and I'm very confident we beat Arkansas.
It will depend on how hurt Hall is, imo.

and how cute the OC tries to get.

i would like to hear explanations of two plays. That first offensive play of the game. Is Jaren back to under throwing deep balls “on purpose“? And that 4th down call where they called a time out to supposedly come back and run the exact same play they they had drawn up before the time out. Terrible.

    • The game was what the game was. Hall was obviously hampered. The coordinators are out of depth, offensive worse than defensive. Crazy that someone could realistically make the argument that Weber State has a better staff than BYU and not immediately be laughed out of a room.

Sitake should’ve pushed to leave after last season and cashed in. They’ll probs lose 2-3 more games and end up playing in a crappy bowl in mid December and Sitakes window of opportunity will be significantly smaller than a year ago.

That said, Vegas is the best sports town in America, and BYU really should try to schedule annually at Allegiant a neutral game. Such an easy roadie, tons of Marriott’s and Hyatts and Chilis and Applebees to patronage, zillions of PB courts, great weather and tons of Mos in the valley.

I agree with all of this except the bolded part. The staff issues are fixable.

        • I was actually encouraged by some of what I saw from the coordinators.

I like Sitake, think he’s a solid HC BYU is lucky to have him. I just don’t see this ending well. 2 more years of missed opportunities against rising expectations and inclusion into a football conference that geographically will be a shock and I don’t see him at BYU longer than 3-4 years.

Im a big advocate of cashing in when you can.

I think he will do fine in the big 12. And I think there’s a lot more to this job for him than money.

I'm terrified of Sitake leaving. He well may be just a barely above average coach, but the pool of potential candidates is so small that BYU will most likely get someone much worse. I like that BYU has given him enough leeway to learn. But I also think there are some members of the staff who have been there a while and could use a shake up. I think Fesi is a keeper. I ARod still has upside and has done good work with the QBs. But I'm not sure anyone else isn't replaceable.

I get frustrated by these kinds of losses but this is a program in transition. The first couple of years in the Big-XII will be a learning curve for the entire team. There is the culture of the conference and fanbases, difference in talent and schemes, and a difference in scheduling. Now isn't the time to jump ship with this type of performances because it'll be more of the same the next couple of years.

I think Hall rushed the throw, perhaps because he sensed the pass rush collapsing in. The trajectory and power behind that ball were visibly wrong right away. It looked like a schoolyard "500" game toss. Romney definitely was not expecting to come back for the ball. I'd be shocked if that was intentionally underthrown.

On the 4th down play, I'm typically a fan of changing up what you showed before the timeout. Especially if you change it enough to cause mismatches based on the personnel the defense brought in expecting your prior play. Force the defense to call one of their timeouts because they don't have the right personnel on the field.

Disagree, vehemently, with the bolded section.

That said, I can't argue with the rest.

There isn’t a city in America that can entertain and has the infrastructure to consume millions week in and out.

Best hockey/NFL/WNBA experience. MMA and boxing. NASCAR and PGA. MLB soon and the next NBA franchise. Incredible place to watch sports.

It's a great setup for road trips, absolutely. The whole darn city is custom built for entertaining out-of-towners.

I'd go with Pittsburgh right now, but as soon as LV adds an NBA and MLB team, it will be tough to beat.

                            • I hate Vegas. It is the true great and spacious building. When I visit family in Southern Utah I fly in there, and leave fast as I can. It hurts my eyes for starters.

Yeah, not nearly enough homeless people. Probably feels weird not walking through tent cities everywhere you go.
