They don't like it.Originally posted by WashingtonCoug View PostI wonder what Colorado thinks of all of this. They just left the BIG 12 and will shortly be back in it again. This time possibly without having games in Texas if the Longhorns don't come.

OU may be just turning up the heat on aTm. Baylor will not sign off on not suing the SEC without OU committing to stay. The SEC may just withdrawn their offer before all this is done and conclude aTm isn't worth it. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostNot good news.
Any chance the PAC-12 west schools will vote no?
There is some interesting thought about all this over on this board/thread:
Maybe Larry has crunched all these numbers before he stated that the Pac-12 isn't interested in expanding right now.Expansion only makes sense if you get Texas. That is true for both the Pac-12 and the BIG 10. In order to expand to 16, I would think that either conference would want to increase TV revenue by about $150 million per year, which is exactly what the Big 12 currently earns.
For the Pac-12, their TV contract in 2012 is about $250 million or $20.8 million per team. Add four teams and $150 million and now we are looking at about $25 million per team. Plus expansion into the Texas market for the Pac-12 network. But it doesn't happen without Texas. The money will not be there for OU, OSU, Texas Tech and Kansas. You need to have Texas. Same with the Big 10.
I don't think these conferences are that excited about going to 16. They will do it if they have to, which means their is additional revenue per team. That would be a significant increase in revenue per team. If Texas goes to the Pac-12 or the Big 10, they will have to share revenue with each team. With the likes of Washington State and Northwestern. Why not just stay in the Big 10 and share revenue and keep the LHN? Or go independent and share nothing."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

My guess is they could get Colo's vote if they did the zipper config and put Oklahoma in the other division.Originally posted by oxcoug View PostI wld guess that OU wouldn't be making the move if they hadn't canvassed enough to know they'd get enough votes."Be a philosopher. I could sure use some good "done deal" news when it comes to our future. Whether in a conference or scheduling as an independent. A few on CB who said they were in the know and we were staying independent said expect the "great" scheduling anouncements early this month. I am still waiting.
Oh well, we play the Utes this week. Aggies appear in position to give us a game and TCU rebounded. There are some things to look forward to. I hope we get defending a mobile QB solved before we play Hawaii.

I couldn't read the whole thing, it made me wanna put a hole in a wall... I think the Big12 should be proactive and offer Larry Scott $100 million to come make their conference happy. What in the world is Dan Beebe doing? First thinking that 10 teams is "ok" when the world is moving bigger, then a year later you hear nothing as his conference that is loaded with top 25 teams... falls apart. I don't get that guy at all.Originally posted by myboynoah View Post
And OU in a "Pacific" Conference seems strange to me. I'm sure they like the prospect of dominating a division... but man... they already do that, they've got pretty much all they want in the Big 12, and can go anywhere if it dies, I don't see why they feel the need to jump. Is playing in the Rose Bowl really that enticing?
