Actually, I thought he went to Baylor Med School.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

Again, forgive me for putting more trust in the statements of Dave Brown, Tom Holmoe, and Bronco Mendenhall than those of the college football think tank that is CUF.

Anyway, sounds like we're joining with TCU to get into the Big 12 regardless

I'm pretty sure he isn't an A&M grad - Baylor Med (?) and then UT-Southwestern. But I think he grew up in College Station. Maybe he went to A&M Consolidated, like David Nixon?

My mother-in-law once refused to let him in our house because she thought he looked "unanstaendig" (which in German is somewhere between indecent and disreputable). He was coming over to watch a Thursday night BYU game, and he arrived about 15 minutes before I got home from work.

(She knew he was coming, knew what kind of car he'd be driving, knew what his name was, but still declined to let him in. He sat on the porch until I got there.)

That post was in hopes that SU would set me straight.

Do tell. As a non-resident of the Show Me Your Hands State I have to say other than getting shellacked by them in football recently I don't have much bad to say about them, other than the Gremlin walking the sidelines.

                • Wow, reports say ISU and maybe the Kansas schools are joining baylor in backpedaling on their previous waivers. This could get interesting.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

                      1. A&M ain't going nowhere
                      2. The Big 12 will add two teams.

                      • Waters went to BYU and Baylor med, a top 20 med school. He eats TAMU fans for breakfast. He hates TAMU.

3D knows this. Very low of you 3D to allow the perception Waters went to TAMU. Babs I'm surprised at you for propagating it.

I guess if I went away my enemies would start saying I went to BYU. Good to know.

Por lo menos te has mantenido firme en que BYU no mas estara independiente. Es la unica cosa en que te has mantenido consistente, pero es algo, pues. (Doc wuap can insert the tildes as he so desires).

I pushed back on Babs and told her to ask MW directly. Not surprised she chickened out.

As long as 1) #1 happens, and 2) BYU is one of the teams in #2, that would be about ideal...

                              • This comes from a source who feeds some of the Shaggy people info. All I know about her is that she works for one of the top donors for the program and was dead on about our coaching hires before they were released...

Rec'd about 10 minutes ago. Confirms much of the same info tweeted by Billy Liucci.

"Big XII conference call just ended. 3 teams suing Texas A&M and per SEC statement, SEC will not accept A&M until litigation/contractual hinderances are removed. Suits will not be cleared in time for SEC acceptance deadline so they would not be approved to exit the Big XII, like Beebe said in his follow up letter to Slive..."

                                HERE"S THE GREAT PART:

At some point, it was brought up that 'so, A&M won't be able to play in the SEC next season at all then, I guess.' Beebe chimed in (basically), 'Well they won't be playing here either.'"

So, the litigation threat wasn't necessarily directed at the SEC, but just issues over A&M's departure, like you would normally have, to negotiate an exit settlement. I tend to believe this, since the SEC statement read:

Dr. Bernie Machen: "After receiving unanimous written assurance from the Big 12 on September 2 that the Southeastern Conference was free to accept Texas A&M to join as a new member, the presidents and chancellors of the SEC met last night with the intention of accepting the application of Texas A&M to be the newest member of the SEC. We were notified yesterday afternoon that at least one Big 12 institution had withdrawn its previous consent and was considering legal action. The SEC has stated that to consider an institution for membership, there must be no contractual hindrances to its departure. The SEC voted unanimously to accept Texas A&M University as a member upon receiving acceptable reconfirmation that the Big 12 and its members have reaffirmed the letter dated September 2, 2011."

SO, WHAT'S FUNNY TO ME, IS THAT THE DEADLINE FOR ALLOWING DEPARTURE GIVEN BY BEEBE GUARANTEED THIS WOULD NOT HAPPEN. There would be no way to negotiate the exit penalties, etc in that short timeframe, especially since aggy is broke as ****. I guess from a negotiation standpoint, Beebe could have done this to disallow aggy time to squabble over mere dollars, since time is of the essence.

I eagerly await the filing and serving of Plaintiff's petitions on agroid.
So it sounds like A&M might be getting booted and blocked from the SEC.

                                Welcome BYU? and two others?
