You are Texas. choose the scenario:

    1. aTm calls, wants to come back. You hang up the phone. It is over in an instant.

    2. aTm calls, wants to come back, you smirk and impishly invite them back, knowing that everyone...media, fans, opposing schools, even their OWN alum base, will eviscerate them for being so incompetent. Meanwhile, aTm is required to agree to the very thing it abhors...the LHN in all its glory. To add insult to injury, new conference mates BYU and ND also have their own network deals. It doesn't hurt that upon returning, the value of the B12 Tv contract goes up another notch. :stirthepot:
Amen. And from everything I am reading, I really do think that Texas and the Big 12 want to keep TAMU in despite the "don't let the door hit you on the ass" bravado.

My dream scenario would be BYU and ND with TAMU in the Big 12. That'd be a really nice conference.

Arkansas loves the SEC. It's all they've got going for themselves.
Two things. They are our old rivals and have no true rivals in the SEC. And their

      • The latest from Chip Brown (it's free):

        http://texas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1256918

BYU: If Notre Dame could be added to the Big 12 as well as either Arkansas or Pittsburgh, BYU would be a popular target to be added to the league as the 12th team. If Notre Dame, Arkansas and/or Pittsburgh could not be added to the Big 12, it appears BYU would be a popular choice to replace Texas A&M, and the league would remain a 10-team conference, sources said.

Gaffords, are you a Texas guy?
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

          • I have a hard time believing Pitt would leave the Big East and WV behind.
            Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

              Big 12 >>>>>>>> Big East

I never thought BYU and Utah would split either. It happened.

              • Pure hypo: If I am the B12 and the ND, Ark, Pitt options don't work out I might look at inviting UCF and South Florida.

Sure, weaker younger sisters in the Florida world, but both programs that have made huge strides, been competitive recxently and it gives the B12 a kind of counterattack - you come into Texas, we'll come into Florida.

As will be noted, I am not the B12.

You're probably thinking of when Utah left the Mountain West. That's my best guess, anyway.

                          • This is great. I'm bouncing off the walls as I think about getting to go home every year to watch byu in texas. So fantastic!!

Beats the hell out of the Pac10

My buddy told me his contact mentioned that university presidents discussed "shared values" as being important. BYU has won some nice games in my home state, too (ex TCU) but because of the TCU connection, BYU has great north Texas exposure

You really think Triplet would have been making fun of the utes like that?

It seems like more of an astute observation than making fun.
