The Big 12 expansion groundswell

Experts now hedging as Monday approaches. Dude of WV, who days ago declared expansion dead, reminds us that he gets credit if Big 12 picks up BYU and Houston.

Stingray and his passion are hard to take seriously. He is a Tuscaloosa, AL native and an Alabama alumnus. He only started cheering for Miss. St. when he went for a college visit in high school. Its not like his family are MSU grads, or that he grew up watching the team. The dude grew up in very epicenter of 'Bamaland.

Sounds like tomorrow is the big day, or not.

It would be nice if we got in, but sounds like that is less likely to happen. And frankly, that's fine too. While I'd prefer to be part of a P5, the fact is that independence had been pretty darn fun. We schedule great games at cool venues all across the country, play an increasingly good schedule, and get the games on TV. We are going to have to fight to stay on the good side of the divide between the haves and the have nots, but I think it can be done even as an independent. I think the future is bright, P5 or no.

Former military officers, senators, professors will meet to talk Big 12 expansion

They will meet with the backdrop of what has become the key quotation, University of Oklahoma President David Boren’s assessment to the OU Daily in June 2015 that the league was “psychologically disadvantaged” because of size. Among the country’s biggest five conferences, three have 14 members, one has 12 and the Big 12 has 10. That number arguably has caused it some constraints since the 10 settled in 2012 when Colorado, Missouri, Nebraska and Texas A&M exited, then TCU and West Virginia joined.

I wonder if they still believe that the Big 12 is “psychologically disadvantaged”.

In other news, the only Big 12 team in the top 10 rankings is Rapelor (at #9).

Besides, if BYU is not invited but they leave the possibility open doesnt the fact that BYU CAN broadcast the presser on its own and that it has fans who whip themselves into a frenzy about the broadcast of a press conference (think about that for a moment) a good thing?
