So the Big 12 is in a hurray to add that awesome Provo market? You probably know this, both Nebraska and BYU have national markets. The Big Ten seemed happy to add Nebraska and their awesome market.

That's not really accurate. Payouts within the Big 12 increased due to splitting revenue 10 ways instead of 12. Meanwhile Nebraska was phasing into a full share of Big Ten revenue. At the time Nebraska joined the Big Ten, they were guaranteed by the Big Ten at least the same revenue they projected to earn had they remained in the Big 12. Now that Nebraska is eligible for a full share of Big Ten revenue, their annual revenue in the Big Ten will easily surpass that of the Big 12.

BYU will encounter something similar. Phasing into a full revenue share with the Big 12 while most likely earning at least as much as they would have had they remained independent.

BYU just got a pitcher from OU to transfer to us.

If Nebraska stayed in the Big 12 then they wouldn't have invited those couch burning mountain men. The revenue would have still been divided 10 ways (after aTm and Mizzou jumped to the SEC and one other team was added). And just wait until the Big 12 network revenue kicks in (not counting the BYUTV revenue).

BYU can't shake a stick at baseball in Texas. It's not even close. It's light years away. I bet my local high school baseball team could give BYU a run for its money.

I merely stated a fact that had nothing to do with your snarky response. BYU baseball is improving though. I'm not going to say it's better than Texas.

SU doesn't know college sports from spelunking. But he does know the world of bashing LDS practices.

I'm just stopping the conversation before it gets into stupid-land.

Recruiting in all sports will improve with BYU going to the Big 12. That's what scares the crap out of the utes right now. I don't think that's stupid.

Hey, Texas schools are a force in college baseball.

I really hope niku will chime in on the awesomeness of HS track or biking in the lone star state. Then we could 3/3 on the delusion that is HS athletics (even in the great state of Old Mexico) and Division 1. Unless you have a private school close to you that specializes in swimming or girl's gymnastics, you are making a ridiculous statement.

                              • parity in college baseball is actually greater than in other sports because so many of the blue chip athletes (including one this very year who had committed to BYU) go straight into the pros. Also, there are only 7 full scholarships per team that have to be divided 27 ways. In what other D1 sport would Coastal Carolina win a national championship?
