I'm in ... CSU and Memphis to the Big 12!Originally posted by Solon View Post"Be a philosopher. A man can compromise to gain a point. It has become apparent that a man can, within limits, follow his inclinations within the arms of the Church if he does so discreetly." - The Walking Drum

ESPN already has BYU. Does it give them a positive net value to cancel the BYU contract and pool them with the Big 12?If we disagree on something, it's because you're wrong.

I felt the spirit when I read that brochure. Denver is the 11th biggest airport in the US? Wrap them up quick, Big12, before some other conference scoops up that airport!Originally posted by Solon View Post

The BYU k is almost up. BYU certainly boosts the Big 12's TV value. Plus ESPN pays a premium for BYU games in the current k. It would be a win-win if BYU joined. ESPN would be getting BYU games at a cut rate and BYU- who doesn't GAS about $ apparently- gets into the conference.Originally posted by SoCalCoug View PostESPN already has BYU. There was a tweet that said BYU has been given word that they are out of the running with the reason given that ESPN doesn't want to pay the difference in price if BYU joins.Originally posted by SoCalCoug View PostESPN already has BYU. Personally I think the tweeter doesn't know what they are talking about. There's no way ESPN or the B12 would show their hand this quickly not would ESPN want to run the risk that BYU entertains other offers. Those Friday night football slots are hard to fill!

The Big 12 probably thinks that if the team is in the conference then the conference will make their sports attractive. That seems to have been what the Pac-12 was thinking with Utah and Colorado. The Utes now have access to better recruits and more visibility, Colorado seems to be a wash. I think it would be great if CSU were in, as long as we are too.Originally posted by Applejack View PostI felt the spirit when I read that brochure. Denver is the 11th biggest airport in the US? God bless em. They gotta show out to make sure they are BYU's running mate and not BSU.Originally posted by BlueK View Postwow, a 41,000 seat stadium to be built eventually. Just what a P5 wants to hear.

That alone gives the tweeter away as ute trolling fraud because only having to pay the additional difference is substantially less than paying an additional full share, PLUS what they would continue to pay BYU. Duh.Originally posted by Shaka View PostThere was a tweet that said BYU has been given word that they are out of the running with the reason given that ESPN doesn't want to pay the difference in price if BYU joins.

I'm sure if it came down to it BYU would forgo a full share and take what they are getting now from ESPN until that contract runs out.Originally posted by BlueK View PostThat alone gives the tweeter away as ute trolling fraud because only having to pay the additional difference is substantially less than paying an additional full share, PLUS what they would continue to pay BYU. Well, if it comes down to which school has the most research funding per tenure-track professor, the biggest airport, or the most students, BYU is SOL.Originally posted by New Mexican Disaster View PostThe Big 12 probably thinks that if the team is in the conference then the conference will make their sports attractive. In fairness, I think BYU is closer to the SLC airport than CSU is to the Denver airport...Originally posted by Applejack View PostWell, if it comes down to which school has the most research funding per tenure-track professor, the biggest airport, or the most students, BYU is SOL."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch!
