Nobody has a testimony of independence. Some have adopted the idea that if you repeat something enough it will become true, "independence is so much better than a conference" see also Trump won't (stay relevant/win primaries/be a contender/get the nomination/get elected).

I'll say it: "Independence is so much better than (any non-P5) conference."

        • 37. And the wicked Ute fans began to mock and to torment their older brother because of their faithfulness, yeah, and behold and such, the BYU fans did become motivated, yea even JAMESTHEMORMON motivated, because they, like their wicked little brothers, began to feel the winds of change, yea even the hip hop Holy Ghost descending upon them. Yet the wicked and slothful ones did not recognize that Spirit, the Down Comforter, and barely passed the SATs en route to their school of least resistance, or more to the point and things (these plates don't erase well), they were stupid and lazy, and commuted to school and still managed to fail their art history class for "political reasons" because of the hardness of their hearts and distorted amygdalae. Amen

My parents met at BYU. I met my wife at BYU. I fell in love with the greatest sport in the history of mankind in the aluminum bleachers of Cougar Stadium. My loyalty is and always will be to Brigham Young University. In the pre-mortal world BYU was written into my spiritual DNA and no decision by an overpaid higher ed administrator in Stillwater can sway that.

I care about a conference only to the extent that it elevates my university closer to its rightful role as the king of all and ruler of everything. Independence is a fine stopover on this journey and the Big 12 is the same. We will go forth boldly, nobly and independent if we must. But no unhallowed hand shall stop the work. Kilani is back. Ty is back. Go BYU. F*** the Utes.

If we are passed over this time I'm with you!

Frankly independence is an empty vessel. Football is empty without something to play for other than exposure.

Seriously! The current MWC is not even close to what it was back in the day. Independence is 100 times better than playing in the current MWC. Hey, we already play the best MWC teams every year.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. Yeah, this isn't even worthy of debate.
