The Big 12 expansion groundswell

I got a kick out of his basketball comments. Specifically, comparing the Big East hoops tourney in Manhattan with the B12 tourney in Kansas City



Jumping from the Big East to the B12 for football is a no brainer. But there must be some degree of nose plugging when making the move for hoops.

While you can't beat the Big East tourney environment, the new Big 12 will be among the elites in college basketball. It may end up being the top conference, depending on who ends up joining.

Take it easy on KC. It is a fine town, and the Big 12 Tourney really is a big deal with KU less than an hour away. MO's loose liquor laws really help out too.

I'm convinced that Vegas is the best town for a hoops tourney. Manhattan would be exciting, but there is simply way too much to do in NYC, distracting everyone from the games. Vegas is a perfect mix.....go to games, back to hotel, hit the tables, eat.

The great thing about SC is that you can attend the very first game and then have the rest of the weekend to do whatever you want! :usc: :fighton3:

Vegas was a blast for the tourney... getting wasted and bar fights with Wyoming fans were always one of my favorite traditions with friends (a few Wyoming dudes we still hung out with after... have family in Star Valley). Other than it being a home series for UNLV I loved everything about games there. Didn't go this year for the WCC though, I wanted to see what it was like in the new tiny venue.

I really like Kansas City though, and would love it if BYU had a chance to be a part of that. Can't beat a town built on Barbecue in my mind. Plus I don't think I'd go broke there like Vegas and New York both tend to sucker me into.
