Save that for SU. He not only appreciates it, he endores' it.

Actually, SU is well beyond miserable vomitus masshood. He's moved on to Rodent of Unusual Size status.

            OB'er:

Hey Chip any truth to these rumors:

First that OU and Texas really were pushing for BYU but the rest of the schools didn't want them because of BYUtv and wanted a school that could help them get a Big 12 network started since OU and Texas have/will have their own networks. So the Big 12 went TCU and then WVU instead. But there is also the deal about Fox and replay rights. Or was it both?

Second that a majority was in favor of inviting both Louisville and West Virginia but a call from the TV execs reminded them they were contracted for only 10 schools next year so the Big 12 had to pick one or the other. That might explain the sudden 180 on that one.
            Chip Brown:

There's more to it than that, but there's a little truth in both of those. Those things were part of the overall picture.

How and why would BYU impede a B12 network?

The Fox rebroadcast issue is annoying.

They would be lowering the available programming because they wouldn't want to have their tier 3 games on the B12 network and have them on BYUtv like OU/Texas. And Sunday play becomes a bigger deal when you have a dedicated conference network that wants more sunday sports coverage.

A Louisville perspective. The writer expects more movement in the Spring.

The comments section has some entertaining back and forth between hillbillies in WV and Kentucky. I've never been to Morgantown but have been to WV many times. That roady to Morgantown doesn't sound fun.

Why Louisville is stuck in the Big East
                    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

This sounds a lot like how things progressed and then stalled with BYU, too.

Interesting lesson to be learned from BYU, WVU, Louisville, Pitt, Syracuse....the cautious get left behind on a sinking ship. Those that JUMP when offered get to climb aboard the life raft.

At this point, BYU has 5 options:

                          1. Stay Indy (Meh)
                          2. Get a Big 12 invite (best possible option, especially in nearer term)
                          3. Hope for a seat at the table when mega-conferences happen (longer term)
                          4. Merge with Big East (not perfect, but can probably happen pretty easily)
                          5. Crawl back to MWC/WAC and whatever crazy 38 team conference they form. (Gag me)
"Sure, I fought. I had to fight all my life just to survive. They were all against me. Tried every dirty trick to cut me down, but I beat the bastards and left them in the ditch."

Wait a minute. Are you now saying you DON'T think BYU was offered a Big 12 spot? Make up your mind already.

Totally I've said all along BYU wasn't offered a Big 12 spot. It's cost me friendships here and made Viking attack me with a cleaver. I'm quite sure BYU was never offered. You aren't?

True, you've been persecuted for your sincere expressions of belief and that's just not right!

You'd think Mormons would know better. I'm still your friend, but I'm not the typical Mormon.
