I am terrible at picking up jokes on message boards. I think everyone is serious all the time. It's like a disease.Originally posted by ERCougar View PostI was playing around, but as I think about it, it's a little irritating.
I get internet through my cable company on a triple combo with phone and tv. So now, I have to switch to DTV and get just phone and internet through my cable company so I can pick up the 2-3 games a year that Fox Sports is going to pick up that are ESPN leftovers? FSN seems like just a more expensive MTN.
Once again running the risk that you are just joking, I'll respond. Unlike The Mtn. you can pick up FSN on any cable provider. It's much easier. You can keep your bundle and just add the appropriate channels, if necessary. I have no idea if it will be more expensive than getting The Mtn. or not.

they do. I got the game on Xfinity. I have the sports package.Originally posted by Clark Addison View PostI thought most cable companies offered Sports Pack options, similar to DirecTV and Dish. Is that not true? I haven't had cable in almost 10 years, so I may be completely wrong on this.Dyslexics are teople poo...

Huh...it looks like you may be right.Originally posted by Clark Addison View PostI thought most cable companies offered Sports Pack options, similar to DirecTV and Dish. Is that not true? I haven't had cable in almost 10 years, so I may be completely wrong on this.
Here's what I get on their website:
http://west.optimum.com/services/digital_tv/sports
The logos for Fox Sports Pacific and Central show up, but I don't see them on my channel lineup (even showing non-subscribed channels). Also, click on the channel link and it doesn't specify anything.
Oh well, I'm ahead of myself. At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I don't have cable (I never watch TV, it's either books or Black Ops when I've got free time). However, decent sports bars all have FSN. Being that I'm in KC, if BYU gets into the Big 12, they'd probably put the games on a bigger TV, instead of the dinky one in the corner like they do now. BYU-SJSU was relegated to an SD tv in the corner, lol. Not a big draw, that game... BYU-TX got the big screen HD projection...but not because of BYU.Originally posted by ERCougar View PostI was playing around, but as I think about it, it's a little irritating.

Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

Missouri BOC Meeting Schedule
By 12:30 p.m. Thursday, meetings are scheduled to be moved to the Student Union at UMKC. It is there that another closed executive session – scheduled for 3:45 p.m. Thursday – will be held at which Missouri and the possibility it could leave the Big 12 Conference for the Southeastern Conference is expected to be discussed.
No press conference is yet scheduled following the end of that session. However, a press conference is on the agenda for Friday morning.

FSN sucks. I made the jokes about FSN Butte and FSN Barstow for a reason. I was looking for the Utah v. Arizona State game a couple weeks ago and discovered that there's some channel called Root out there. On Dish there's the standard def feed and the Hd feed side by side on the channel guide. As far as I can tell, Dish has an Hd feed reserved for Root, but Root chooses to never actually use it. On top of that, the channel looks like the good ol Zapruder Network that we grew to hate.
To sum it up, FSN ends up right next to the pay per view porn channels (how do you think I found it?) on the channel guide, they change the name of the network very other month and the Hd feeds seem to be great at playing Muzak and telling you to "check back for select Hd programming" as opposed to actually showing sports. Finally, replays of the Miracle Bowl look better than live telecasts on "Root."Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

That's odd. I get Root HD just fine on comcast for Utah games, and the picture is actually pretty good. The commentary, on the other hand...Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostFSN sucks. I'm sure there FSN is in Hd on some systems, but it seems rare on Dish which isn't an obscure provider. But that's the point, FSN is still relegated to second class status on one of the satellite providers.Originally posted by camleish View PostThat's odd. I thought the same thing at first. You need to keep scrolling. Thinking about Rich Harmon's article about BYU to the Big 12 yesterday. Being that the article appeared in the DesNews, does that lend it any more credence whatsoever? Since the DesNews is a thin wrapper for the mormon church's PR, could it be that allowing him to write that article is a sign of the state of negotiations? Or is it just another of his stupid Milagros-has-great-ribs articles and other tripe he writes? I'm probably reading way too much into it, but I just can't shake the thought that maybe when "BYU will be in the Big 12" appears in the DesNews/mormon church PR, it means just a little bit more that just speculation on the part of the author.Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. I bet Thomas Monson is the actual author of the article.Originally posted by atheistcougar View PostThinking about Rich Harmon's article about BYU to the Big 12 yesterday.
