I don't know. You're probably right, but I can't say that for sure. I wanted my rant to center more on the fact that we have Cougs jumping ship when things get tough, which they are right now. Less so on the solution.

Side note: The missionaries here are no longer allowed to eat with members between 5 and 9 unless there are investigators who are progressing with the lessons present. If not, they are supposed to be out working during those hours. I understand what the leadership is trying to do. I also understand the missionaries are going to get fed a lot less.

Having the missionaries eat at members homes especially in the area that I live in is essential to keeping people coming to church. Half of the members are in Households where only one of the two adults is a member.

I get what they are trying to accomplish, but missionaries need support too.

In our area they are limited to a 60 minute dinner appointment unless investigators are present or unless they have inside sources about B12 expansion.

Not where I live. We have them over fairly regularly for our area, but we've never once had investigators.

I think the "rule" is more something they should strive to do. But, it was something I was supposed to strive to do as well, and that was more than 10 years ago.

Also, at that time of night a guy might be sitting all alone on his coach thinking about watching Real Sex on HBO and happens to come across the game. Who knows how many folks we might be saving from watching porn.

I hope they pull that out in Big XII negotiations, there would be no way that they could deny us rebroadcasting rights.
