Hmm. I wonder if BYU and Utah came as a package to Big 12 would Utah entertain the idea? Jump from one BCS conference for another.. It puts BYU and Utah back in the same conference and keeps the rivalry in conference as well and the game being possibly moved back to November..

If I was the Big 12, I would at least entertain this option and see if they could get some revenge for the PAC 12 poaching last year. And it would add more stability then some of the other options. They then could add WVU and have a East/ West conference division..

It may be just messageboard fodder, but I think it would be appealing...

While fans and the athletic department seem unified to go to the Big 12, there is some dissention among the board and the LDS Church, who seem to like the idea of independence.

I have a hard time seeing KJZZ paying Utah enough money to make it worth it to leave their current, covetable position in the PAC 12. There is no chance Utah leaves.

The regional networks won't be a big deal revenue wise as there won't be any football or men's basketball played on them. When there is football and Men's bball to be played it will be on the conference network.

Texas purportedly doesn’t want the Frogs — and never has — and the other schools are worried about the league being too Texas-centric.

That doesn’t mean it won’t happen, however — TCU makes a ton of sense on several levels and the league may not have many options.

Texas can hide behind several reasons for not wanting TCU (lack of TV Market, too Texas Centric, etc.) but everyone know the real reason. Over the last 5 years TCU has been the best program in the state, and as long as Patterson stays, I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Good points. I suppose I'm not one to immediately look at a man's crotch on first glance; I also don't automatically assume the work "jerk" refers to self-stimulation. Plus everyone knows you don't do it slow.

Geographically, I thinik the P12 is a better fit. However, if stability weren't an issue, and the money were the same, I would think Utah is better off in a conference with BYU. If the roles were reversed, I'd still want to be in the same conference as Utah.

I've always thought BYU and Utah to the Big 12 made sense, just as a package deal, keeping the rivalry alive, and so forth. Of course, Utah and BYU to the PAC made even more sense, if only for geographic reasons. Money and TV and academic "issues" made all that unworkable, unfortunately.

This really depends. Moving to the Big 12 could make sense if a team has value. Those 3rd tier rights can be worth something. Kansas, for example, made an extra $7.2M last year on top of their Big 12 tier 1 & 2 share. If a team doesn't have a lot of value then it would be better off in a conference that subscribes to collectivism so it can receive the welfare of teams that do.

You may be happy they invited your school, but know that they invited your school because it's largely comprised of people not like you (Mormon).
