I love the self-loathing element in BYU fans.

Correct. That's why any home game not picked up by a major network will be at least picked up locally by KJZZ, because Utah has no third-tier value.

It's good we share the same opinion of KJZZ too. Bridge building all over the place today.

I hate it when you expose me like that, you self-hating Carbon County native.

I would expose you as a troll, but I am not participating in this thread. Lucky for you!

+1 lulz for me. But that's only without counting the magnificent treasure trove that is Top Ute.

Have I ever mentioned how much I loathe self-loathing trolls?

I'm starting to get very worried about you. Self-hatred is common. Lots of people have it. Hang in there and get the help you need. We're all pulling for you. If you ever start thinking of ending it all, please give us a call.

                      • Who Got Cold Feet? SEC Done Expanding, Missouri Sticking With Big 12

For now, at least, it looks like any talk of Missouri to the SEC is finished.

CBS reports that after officially adding Texas A&M as its 13th team, the SEC will stay at 13 teams through 2013. And with the SEC negoatiating a new TV contract in the next year, the SEC will have little reason to add Missouri at a later date. It was now or never for the Tigers and their St. Louis TV market.

"I really can't emphasize this enough," SEC Commissioner Mike Silve said in a conference call. "This has all been about Texas A&M.

"We have not initiated any conversations with any institution."

Missouri Waffling Between SEC And Big 12

Sounds like Silve is blowing just a little smoke up our asses, because it's pretty clear that there had been a lot of mutual interest between the SEC and Mizzou. And my guess is that it was Missouri, not the SEC, that got cold feet.

Yes, the SEC would have been a conference upgrade for the Tigers, and would have offered more long-term stability. But the move wouldn't have been without its drawbacks. Missouri would have abandoned many of the cultural and competitive rivalries it maintains in the Big 12, and the Tigers would have instantly become a lower-teir SEC football program, which almost certainly would have led to a few seasons down the road where Missouri wouldn't have qualified for a bowl game.

No one in the Big 12 is happy about Texas' Longhorn Network, and they probably never will be. But at least now the conference has come together to ensure that all other conference revenues will finally be shared equally, instead of disproportionally loading up Texas' already fat pockets.

So with a sweeter deal in the Big 12, and a few concerns about placement in a new SEC, Missouri can feel good about staying put in the Big 12.

Hmmmm. Thanks to my slow typing and looking up how to spell rebuttal this post now follows a bunch of erection posts.
                          You will be sorely disappointed.

Thanks for putting YO in his unfeeling, insensitive Carbon County-hating place. My situation is very complex. I loathe myself for loathing all you self-loathing types who loathe the way I loathe myself. The whole mess is loathsome.

                            • This post from OB is awesome:
Is BYU a good fit to replace aTm? Let's compare:

On the one hand we've got an unusual religion founded in the 19th century that is at best aloof, and at worst (and more than occasionally) hostile to non-believers. They treated women as second-class citizens until fairly recently (and even then, only when forced by the courts and the legislature to change their ways). Their customs and rituals (including sexual practices and notions of worship) seem--at best--peculiar to outsiders, and are occasionally downright spooky. They blame all of their problems on a powerful horned nemesis.

On the other hand, we've got BYU.

I say we sign 'em up.
