  • One thing I noticed this week is a relatively new billboard right at the Point of the Mountain, southbound.

It is a billboard welcoming BYU to the West Coast Conference. I assume it was paid for by the WCC months ago. However, it is also possible that it was done recently as a last ditch effort to keep BYU around for awhile longer.

Interesting to see so many conferences fighting over BYU in the past year.

I took a pic yesterday evening but obviously it was at the worst time of day. The sun was right in the pic. You can barely make out the billboard.

    Has anyone else noticed it?

PS as an FYI, the sun really isn't that close to Earth.

    Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

    • Yes, DDD I saw it on Friday and tried quickly to get my camera phone operational while flipping off a South bound driver. I was unsuccessful.

This is what we get for joining a Catholic league: lots of guilt trips.

While acceptance of this offer is not guaranteed, our sources indicate BYU definitely wants in if things can line up to BYU's liking.

Quite possibly my favorite post in this thread.

I promise that people are triangulating, extrapolating, and generally making up news.

                      • Regarding BYU's negotiating, if that is what is happening.
We learned that BYU counsel did not read the CSTV/MTN contract when the conference agreed to it and were later upset to find out that they were not allowed to rebroadcast any games, or even to broadcast games that were not otherwise broadcast. Apparently, they just believed someone (Hair?) when that someone told somebody at BYU that everything was hunky-dory.

I would expect the BYU lawyers to be working overtime to ensure that the 3rd tier and rebroadcast rights are properly laid out this time around. In that sense, Dick Harmon's article is probably right. The TV details take time to be hashed out.

It looks like a couple of college guys from Utah. They have "reported" on the MWC and WAC, and now--surprise!--the PAC12.

                          • From my source inside the BYU admin:

Sorry about the Utah game. What a nightmare.
As was previously discussed, I'm pretty worthless for inside info.

This is BYU. The lawyers are home by 6pm to be with their families.
