What would the financial concern be? Wouldn't the university stand to make more money?Originally posted by GrizzledVeteran View PostSo Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

The more I think about the more I think that statement isn't true. If Samuelson was that public about saying we're never going to a BCS, wouldn't the local media be all over that? I don't think it would be much of a secret."To the man who only has a hammer, everything he encounters begins to look like a nail."

I guess they would prefer to fork out $750,000 for crappy teams to play in Provo in front of 45,000 fansOriginally posted by MarkGrace View PostWhat would the financial concern be? Maybe. No respectable news outlet would rely on CB as a source and alumni heads would probably be told to keep it on the down low. Wouldn't our travel be less? This year alone we've already gone to Mississippi and Texas. Well be back in Texas in October. The only thing I can see is them not wanting to be the little fish in a big pond. They won't be able to dictate the conference like they did the WAC and MWC, which is a stupid reason. I hope this isn't about them worrying about Monday night basketball.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostI'm guessing going from 2mm in tv revenue to 18mm would more than cover the travel. ha."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. I'm calling bull on this. Seriously, with the athletic department on lock down, and BYU as a whole not making any statements publicly whatsoever (other than the "don't speculate" comment), why in the world would President Samuelson make a flippant remark like this to a group of alumni chapter chairs? Then, add Bronco's recent comments to the mix and it doesn't add up. I call bull....partly because I want so badly for this to be false.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostShogs original post about what Samuelson said must be correct

My fear though is that this does seem to fall in line with the depressing tone Viking has shared tonight. Please don't let it be so!
